I have this problem when ever i try installing the game it stops at 44% and says it can't find a certain file. It supposed to say insert cd 2, but it doesn't. I've tried totaly whiping it off my hard drive registry files and all and it still doesn't work I'm exhusted and disappointed that I've lost my favorite game. Can anyone please help me out. I've tried so much and the only thing I've accomplish isa messy desk and a head that feels like a gun went off from the inside out.

I agree, it's either a faulty CD or your CD drive is playing up. Clean your CD, check for scratches, clean your drive lenses etc and try again.

Good luck

I ended up restoring my pc. It accomplished nothing but a spyware free pc. BF still wont install, BF doesn't even appear in the registries any more. CD is clean heck I even "disk doctored" it just to be sure. Still wont work. There must be something wrong with the CD. Becouse it should of worked after I restored it yet there appears to be nothing wrong. I'm baffled usaly I can fix things problems. The CD has no scratches the only thing left that could even remotly cuase this is the CD drive.....but thats a long shot, Thanks for trying,

Matt

Hi uss_defender,

Yes it certainly sounds like a faulty CD. If you have a friend who plays try borrowing their CD but entering your serial number, that should work to get you playing again.

I tried it on my old 98 intel pentium 2.... no I wasn't trying to play off it it wouldn't be pretty I jsut wanted to see if it installed you know. Well it didn't so some how or another its the cd. I'll do some heavy duty cleaning on it like I've never done before, but thats all I can do becouse I have no friends with the cd. Hell I have no friends lol. Oh well 100 bucks down the drain..... :( hopefuly I can fix this.

Bugger mate.

If there are no scratches or dirt on the disk surface hold it up ot the light and see if any of the backing has pinholed or anything, that'll cause problems. The other thing to try (and nobody jump on me for this please - read the thread) is to copy it, sometimes damaged disks will copy ok even if they won't install, then just use you original disk to play.

Good luck

I agree with Apocalypse_kid, sometimes an image of or a recopy of a cd will work. If it doesn't you're still not SOL try a program called WinImage and put an image of the cd onto your hard drive. If worst comes to worse I'm sure some nice person will ftp you an ISO of the cd you are having trouble with. I would.
