When ever i set up a multiplayer game or dedicated server I can,t be seen on the internet.

AMD 1900XP 512 DDR RAM Geforce 3 Alcatel ADSL MODEM 512 download 256 upload connection. one other computer on lan Linksys 10/100::

Hi Acornet,

This question has been asked a number of times on the forums, you should find the threads of you hunt enough, but I will save you some trouble.

Firewall, Router, ISP are the three main problems game serving. By the sounds of it, if you have two machines on the LAN you are using some sort of Router, probably the Linksys device.

You will need to allow port forwarding on your Router for the correct game ports to the machine serving the game. Then make sure that your firewall (of you are running one) also allows packets throgh for the game ports. You will have to refer to your Router instrucions on how set port forwarding cause every one is different.

Once you have done that you should have no problems, apart from your ISP, some of them block typical game ports to prevent users running game servers on their home connections.
