Hi guys....had to share this one. Went fishing with my 6 yr old daughter and she had 2 amazing catches!! I did have to help her bring them in but she was holding the rod each time when these monsters hit. The first Largemouth Bass was 23" and 7 lbs The second was 20" and 5.5 lbs And yes we had to put them back after the pics due to they "Have families they need to get home to".....ah to be young again!

Hi Ian...I was using a rapala minnow like this one. Oh and a Bass is in the Bass family.

Fish - Large Mouth Bass Also Known As: Black Bass (Micropterus Salmoides)

Usually greenish with a horizontal line of blotches forming a strip along both sides. The upper jaw reaches behind the eye. The anterior portion of the dorsal fin has 9 spines. The posterior portion of the dorsal fin as 12-13 rays.
Spawning occurs when the water reaches approx. 60 degrees (February to May). Nests are usually in water about 3-8 feet deep and lay from 2,000 to 43,000 eggs which the male guards after they are deposited. Eggs hatch in about 5-10 days and the fry feed on zooplankton & insect larvae. The adults feed on other fish and large invertebrates (crawfish).

Little late on this one, eh Dave... Nice pics! She looks like she has daddy's eyes...I bet you take all the credit! :D So...Does this mean you'll be taking all the ankle-biters fishing while the grown ups talk about grown up things? And I know all about them critters that you have to show mercy to because "they have famillies that will miss them and be sad" :p
