If I were you, I would upgrade my RAM. 256 is just not enough. Srry, thats all the help I can give. :(
This applies sorry... RTFP (read the fucking post)
i have clearly stated that i have 700 odd ddr-ram pc 333 ,,, how did u come to the conclusion that i only had 256 mb ram lol..... o well ...
Because hes fucking blind. The video card has 256 not the system. Like he said RTFP.
I assume you have already fiddled with the AA and AF settings to see what you can do there. I have recently purchased a GF 5600 128Mb model and am very happy with it, no slowdown at all.
However I have recently seen some posts with ppl compaining about slowdown and they all had onboard sound, I believe it was cmedia and I note from the reviews of this board that it has the same sound onboard, I saw this on a review site;
Cmedia 9739 6 channel audio codec is used on board
Also note that it is AC97 sound (which means that much of the sound processing is done seperate from the sound chip). It could be that when you get into an area with a lot of sound effects (which will of course be where the action is) your performance may be suffering cause of the onboard sound. I had a similar problem the onboard sound on my Gigabyte Mobo till I replaced it with a Soundblaster Live 5.1 - no probs now.
