I'm having a problem with BF:V and BF1942:DC. THe problem is that i cant connect to any servers in BF:V, and the game freezes when i click on internet for DC. the only error message is "Failed to Connect to Server" when i hit update, it lags for a bit then nothing comes up I have made sure all of the ports for the game are open and still nothing :( System Specs AMD Athalon 2400+ Audigy 2 Radeon 9500 Pro 1 Gig DDR 2700 Ram 160G and 20G harddrive (BF:V is on the 160 and DC on the 20) Linksys BEFSR41 Router 768 DSL I have not had troubles with this in the past but since about a week after BF1.6 i am unable to connect to any games or even see the internet screen on DC and BF1942. ~UrPeaceKeeper ~[ASF]Whiskey_11 www.advancedstrikeforce.com
Hey whiskey its seamen.. i never head of that problem is there something wrong with your internet?
try swiching off your firewall and reconnect just a thought if it works try double checking your firewall options
In theory your firewall shouldn't cause a problem since it's an "outgoing request", I am behind a hardware Suse Linux Firewall and BF and DC work fine. If it is lagging when you try to update the server list it is most likely a communication problem with the Master Server and could be caused by your ISP blocking ports or something.
Try getting ASE (All Seeing Eye), that should let you update the server list and may let you join the games, the most likely reason you can't join at the moment is you are not getting updated serever data from the "master server", with a bit of luck by using ASE you should bypass that problem.
I have all seeing eye but i cant even connect to those. I cant shut off my firewall since its part of my router and i dont have access to those (via parents). My ISP issued some down time for yesterday morning, it doesnt appear to have fixed anything at all. :( ASE gives me some random error about not being able to connect to scanners. This problem is indeed weird and isnt just mine, on the EA Boards there are other ppl like me. ~UrPeaceKeeper ~[ASF]Whiskey_11 www.advancedstrikeforce.com
By the sounds of it, it is almost certainly a internet problem then, ASE is a different program from BF, if they both can't connect properly then your ISP may be either blocking the specific ports for games, or a range of IP addresses that correspond to the games, alternatively the a backbone linking you to these sites maybe down (some roadworks may have accidently cut a Fibre Optic Cable for isntance) and the backup may not be able to handle the load, so you get these sorts of problems. It may clear up by itself in a few days, those other ppl may be the same area of the country affected by a service fault. I know both ASE and the ingame browser work fine for me.
One of my brothers friends was at my musical performance tonight and he works for my ISP and he is going to check what could be wrong ~UrPeaceKeeper ~[ASF]Whiskey_11 www.advancedstrikeforce.com
