Ok, I have a dilemma...

My daughter has broken my Disk#1 of BF42 and I have gotten to the point where I am in need of a fresh HD format. Alot of crashes and whatnot is forcing the issue.

I have backed up my install of BF42 to my secondary Hard Drive in hopes that I might be able to simply copy it back to the primary HD once I have reformatted and re-installed Windows.

Will this be possible? Is there registry entries that need to be made, and if so how and where can I find them to copy them for re-installation?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Kyle

Hi mate,

It's possible that it would work, I know ppl who keep several versions of BF on their hard drive by copying the old installation before upgrading, and the old ones work ok still. The problems come when you want to install patches and things, you need to copy the registry keys that BF uses. It may be possible just to do a backup of the selected EA Reg keys to a file then restore them afterwards, of course that may also just screw up your registry so do a backup first. You could try doing a complete Reg backup and restore it afterwards, and then try and clean it up later but that may cause some huge problems.

Good luck
