I honestly believe that the lagginess/choppines in this game are totally unrelated to net code but rather some driver problem. Is it the sound card? The video card? Motherboard?
Athlon XP 2100 Audigy (Giga-Byte) GA-7VRXP motherboard 512MB DDR333
What could be the problem. I disabled sound acceleration in DXDIAG.EXE and it got worse. I have version 1.31 of BF1942.
i have had problems with bf1942 since 1.3 came out, i play desertcombat.3 and have had no problems lost the lag and sound problems are gone, i do give credit to dice for makin a good game but the dc team have worked nonstop to make their version better i would suggest goin to dc till dice can fix the problems dc team has found and taken care of, also not each system runnin handles the same
The single player jerkiness is actually caused by the bot AI and is unrelated to the internet or anything else, I generally find that my gameplay on LANS is much smoother than over the net so it could be related to the net code, however your problem may be specific to your setup, the creative series of sound cards have had problems with BF since it came out. You didn't mention your vid card so I can't really offer any comments on that. My problem with jerkiness and lag seems soley related to the number of players in the game.

It just sucks...I played BF in the "original" version (without patches) and the game worked flawlessly....I honestly do not notice any difference between all the different patches, only the lag gets worse....and it's not even lag, its delay at regular time interval (darti?)
