I am having this problem over and over again. Whenever I try to connect to any game, it just exits the game whenever it is done loading. I really do not know what to do and then I got crap when I try to play with sound. It runs very very slow and the only way I can play a fast game is if I disable my sound. Can anyone help me?

Do you mean any BF game, or any and every game? If so from what you said above your sound card seems to somehow be causing the problem. Try to wipe out any current drivers you have installed for it and see if there are any newer ones available. See if the direct x diagnostic tool can find any problems. Start/Run/ type "dxdiag" and hit enter. Go through all the tests.

Well, I have onboard audio and I just installed the drivers that were on the CD. Now, about the internet games, I mean any and every game. Also, for direct x diagnostic tool, there were no problems.

Make sure your video card is appropriate for the games you are trying to play.

I initally loaded hydravision and had those sort of problems. Uninstall hydravision and try getting into a game.

How about some other system info also please, hardware and OS.

If it affects any and every game it could be something to do with your vid card or drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your vid card, sound card and the latest version of DirectX.

You did say something about playing with sound disbled, does that mean you can create a singleplayer or co-op BF game on your comp and it plays OK? The same with other games also?

If it is a hardware problem it should affect it if you play single, multi, or online games. When you say exit the game do you mean it crashes back to the desktop or just back to the game menu. If it's the latter it could be a firewall problem either on your comp, router or ISP. What sort of intrernet connection do you have?

Please get back to me with answers to these questiona nd I'll have a think and see where we go from there

Good luck

I managed to connect to the internet. I just had to re-install the patch. Go figures...

How am I supposed to uninstall hydravision?

Specs: Windows Xp operating system 17" flat-screen daytek monitor 768 megs of ddr ram; 333 mhz ATI Radeon 9000 pro 128 meg video card Onboard Audio sound card Asus P4S533 motherboard Intel P4 1.6 ghz processor

Also, it does not affect any other games. I already have the latest for the video and direct x drivers, but for the latest drivers for my sound card, do I have to get the latest drivers for my motherboard as well?

Yes, I play with sound disabled. When it is either on or off, it affects all the types of gameplay. If you meant other games as in other software, than no, but I do get a slight gilt of lag when playing sometimes

I hope that helps. But I need help.

Ive never had a problem with hydravision. Its one of my favorite Ati features. However if you don t need or use it, it can easily be removed through your control panel and the add/remove programs list.

Well everything hardware seems ok except for the onboard sound. I used to use the onboard sound but I replaced it with a Soundblaster Live 5.1 and it works great.

I am wondering if it is a ISP thing, maybe they are doing some port blocking that is interfering with BF. How are you joining the games, using the BF ingame server list, Gamespy (shudder!) or All Seeing Eye. I have had some ppl who had trouble connecting using the ingame server list try All Seeing Eye and it worked ok through that.

Good luck
