Hey guys, I need help, Im running a 1.4GHZ Intel P4 with 512MB ram, 40gig drive, etc etc with an ATI Radeon 7000

first problem : the game runs REALLY choppy even on the lowest of detail seetings (640x480) and the midway level is almost unplayable. how can i improve my performance when i exceed the sys requirements for this great great game?

second problem: I was messing around with audio settings to get the game to run better (everything was at lowest quality before i did this) and i clicked on "use hardware acceleration" and the game crasehd and now it just loads to a black screen or crashes every time i start the game. How do i change the setting back without entering the game? is there a file i can edit or something? Help!

I cant help with the performance problem but I can tell you how to turn hardware acceleration off without going in to the game. ok here goes, go to your main BF directory. (btw this is assuming you have the latest patch) now go to mods, bf1942, settings, profiles, and go into the profile that has the same name of your profile and then double click a file called sound.con and at the bottom there should be a line that says game.setHardware 1. Set that 1 to a 0. And that should work. and you have to open the .Con files with WordPad. :cya:

Hi cheruboo,

There's not really much you are going to be able to do about the performance problem cause your vid card is very borderline (in fact lucky it runs at all, the lowest officially supported ATI vid card is radeon 7500). Apart from that your PC is OK to run. I would seriously suggest that if you're are going to be running this game a lot you upgrade your vid card.

Good luck
