Hello to All. This is my First post on this forum.

I am an hours old BF 1942 noob. I am trying to update my game, and so far have been unable to D/L a 1.45 patch that will unpack correctly. I keep getting a "corrupt file" error during the installation phase.

I have a cable modem, and I have a wireless router that these files are passing through. My first thought was to disable the firewall on the router, and disable NAV. That did not work either.

Any thoughts ???

Thanks,

BB

Try downloading it straight from EA games, got to www.battlefield1942.com It should install by itself fine. Make sure to download the full patch and not just the incramental file.

Actually, I have tried the EA site, and several others. I believe the problem is on my end somehow. My ISP is comcast, and I am hitting around 223 kbyte/sec. on the d/l. Thats about triple what I used to get with DSL. Is it possible that there is data being lost at this higher speed? Like I said earlier, I have tried this with all of my Norton Internet Security disabled, and the firewall on my router disabled. I am using XP, but I have never enabled the XP firewall. I have two Hard Drives, and I have tried to save them to both. Same result.

???

Problem Resolved. Norton Scripting Block was stripping out portions of the patch code.

Thanks ALL.

Norton blows. I got fed up with it. Switched back to Zonealarm and havent had any problems since.

Although I cant figure out why my mouse keeps moving around by itself.

Perhaps you should take the ouija board out from underneath it and replace it with a mouse pad Parakleet-TAKE LUCK

But seriously, what sort of mouse? I have an optical mouse and if it gets hairs or fluff under it over the diode it behaves strangely, hops around sometimes as it tries to track the hairs. If it is real movement, ie: like someone using your puter remotely, I would be more than a bit worried!?!

Have fun mate

You made this thread quite a long time ago i'm not sure if you will get this or not but how did you completely resolve your problem because it seems i am having the same problem with the 1.6.19 patch. I can download it just fine but when i double click the icon on the desk top to install.. it go's through the first process but then when it go's to extract/unpack it, it gives me an error saying, cannon unpack the executable you are trying to run is corrupt, verify its integrity and try again. and i've downloaded it from the same sight that i know someone else has downloaded it from and it on my end. please help.. email caliguy192001@hotmail.com

Thanks
