I just got bf1942 for x-mas and its a 3 disk one its the expansion with road to rome. Well I installed all 3 and installed game spy so I can play online, but when i go to play the game in a server it brings up an error and says, "Wrong Version!" and it says click here to get updates but it just takes me to ea games website where bf1942 is located but does not tell me what patch or update i need. I tried a couple here on bf1942files without sucess. Please help im anxtious to play online! :(

what you need to do is..first of all dont use gamespy..it isnt needed

the game comes with a perfectly good system for finding servers in it already

and for your problem

i dunno about road to rome patches..but for the regular bf1942

www.bf1942files.com

get the patches in order..chronological/numerical..you know

hopefully that helps

all you need is the 1.5 full patch and the wrong version problem is solved, this one has all the patches in one, so its nice and easy to get everything up to date. also, keep in mind that the 1.6 patch is due out some time soon, i believe the official bf site http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/1942/us/home.jsp said something like early january. ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/battlefield_1942_patch_1.5.exe

thank you alot guys. Good thing in on a cable modem, or id be dead lol. Yea ive tried a few things form bf1942files and no luck, but that 1.5 file is d/l'ing right now, i hope it fixes it. So should I uninstall gamespy? or just use it now that its on there? BTW-what kinda video cards u guys run on this game? I have a geforce 2 but its only 32mb i believe its one of the older ones. and i only have 256mg/ram. I hear 1G+ helps alot. and my cpu is only 1000mHz... One last question if you guys can help. I just bought a Saitek Rumble force joystick, and I got the drivers installed..but one question, in the setup for it it has a little part where it lets you move around the joystick and it shows all teh functions, paddle for throttle etc, but it says it does not need ot be calibrated however it is infact out of calibration. When i fly a plane it dips hard to the left when at a neutral position, making it almost impossible to fly. Is there any way to calibrate it or chane some type of setting somewhere?? thanks for all teh fast replies guys

Athlon XP 2000+ 512 MB DDR RAM NVidia GeForce4 Ti4600 128 MB DDR XP Pro and for flying, i use the mouse. you'll get used to it eventually, keyboard isn't good enough and if you don't have an optical mouse, get one, makes game play alot better.

Calibrate it in the game in options and then controls. Now go to air and calibrate your Joystick. Then click SAVE! (Don't forget)
