i have an an problem ingame with oblivion and it says:you are over-encumbered. what does this mean and what do i need to do now? please say is.
u mean u dont know what encumberence is?!? wow. its the weight u can carry. drop all the thingd u dont need like bones and cups and the like. u have a weight limit called encumbrence. after u go over that number, u cannot move until u lose some wieght. its a number in the left corner of the inventory.
rofl i still dont know what encumberance means but it said it once when i picked something up so i just dropped a bunch of useless crud and moved on.
Have you been using the TGM cheat? Because you can carry however much you want, but when it is disabled and you are beyond the encumberance limit you will be encumbered. Besides, tgm rips what you bought the game for. DO NOT USE TGM!!!
unless its for pure fun and u always remember to turn it off when ur going to play seriosly again ;)
is it the stronger you get the more you can carry? because when i wipe out a dude and swipe his possesions i want to sell his stuff in one hit. but because i get over enCUCUMBERED i have to make several journeys and it gets on my ball sack
Yes, the higher your strength, the more you can carry.
Just for the record:
1.something that encumbers; something burdensome, useless, or superfluous; burden; hindrance: Poverty was a lifelong encumbrance.
en·cum·ber (ěn-kŭm'bər) Pronunciation Key tr.v. en·cum·bered, en·cum·ber·ing, en·cum·bers
- To put a heavy load on; burden: a hiker who was encumbered with a heavy pack; a life that has always been encumbered with responsibilities.
I know it's tempting, but don't carry things you don't use. I sometimes get cool armor or a weapon I think I might use.. but I never do. So all it's doing is limiting how much I can carry. If you don't want to sell it, put it in a chest in your house or something.
Easy solution is to just buy a house and keep loot that you aren't using in a storage cupboard.
Or, if you have Shadowmere you can take advantage of a useful glitch - first knock her out by jumping off a cliff or something. 'Use' her unconscious body and deposit any unwanted or heavy items into her inventory. Then wait for her to come round. Bingo, instant portable storage! To add or remove items from Shadowmere just knock her out again and take/replace what you need.
rofl thats so mean :( but usefull lol. my guy is poor. i have 2300 something but i REALLY dont wanna buy that dumb lil shack. right now, im keeping all my extra beer/wine in a hotel room :D if i sold all of it (id have to get in the thieves guild first) i could make another 1000
I gave in and bought the shack. I could get essentially free lodgings from Aleswell Inn having completed the 'Zero Visibility' quest but it doesn't have any storage space, so...
Ideally I'd like a second house. I'm saving up for Rosethorn Hall at the moment.
