Does anyone know where I could download TES 1,2, or 3 with all expansions for free? Someone on Youtue said they got the first one (Arena) for free from Bethesda's website, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I tried getting Arena for free on some sites, since it's the oldest and probably the easiest to find a download for. But when I got a download, it wouldn't let me install it

Btw: if your wondering, I just want to play 1,2, and three just for the heck of it. Arena looks like it's one of the first games ever created! lol

Arena

I don't believe the other games were offered for free at any time.

Yeah I thought so. But then again I got the full game of Doom 3 for free from a program called Ares, and Doom 3 isn't that old. I think Morrowind is older then Doom 3 (?). So do you think something like Ares would have 2 and 3? I already did a search on it but it was still searching after 5 minutes so I knew it wasn't going to work. I did a search on some other time and it got completed but there were no servers available to give me a connection to get the download.

So anyway thanks for the Arena link. Every Elder Scrolls fan has to play the game that started it all, right?

EDIT: To install, do you have to open the folder and find the file that's called "INSTALL" and use that? If so the way you install for this game is a little different so I have no idea what to do. If it's already installed and I just have to click the Arena icon, then that doesn't work. The screen just turns black for 2 seconds and goes back to the desktop.

You mean you downloaded Doom3 legally via P2P software (Ares)??

I don't recall ID ever releasing the full game for free download so it was most likely ILLEGAL

Yes it was P2P but I don't know who I got it from. So it could be legal or illegal. I'm pretty sure it was legal. There are some illegal downloads on Ares though. I don't know exactly how Ares works, because I don't use it much and I only download minor games from it when I'm bored.

There is a 99% chance that it was illegal. I can find no info about ID releasing the game for free.

Arena is the only one that Bethesda has legally released for free. Morrowind is '03 (i'm pretty sure), and since it's still running strong, I doubt they're going to give it for free if there are still people willing to pay for it. Just pay the $20 for the GOTY edition of Morrowind, it's worth it and there are plenty of graphic enhancements if you think they're outdated (personally i think it adds to the charm).

Yeah I don't really care if the graphics are good or not, I just want it. lol. I said I wasn't going to buy it at first because I just don't trust buying games online anymore because I never get them. I bought Gmod10 (a sandbox mod for Half-Life 2) from Steam for $10 and a year and a half later, I still don't have it. There was another time something like that happened, but I forgot how it went down. So if the only way is to buy it then do you know what kind of stores would have Morrowind? I'm thinking it's just a little too old to have in stores like EB Games or Gamestop.

You must have done something wrong because buying games off of STEAM is probably the easiest thing possible. All you do is download them...

They still carry it at BestBuy, and I've seen it at EBgames once or twice. if you still can't find it, just buy the GOTY edition from Amazon.com. They have it new, and you can complain it was never received if you don't get it.
