Hello guys,

Today I bought one of my first RPGs: TES4: Oblivion. My PC should match the preferences. But it lags, if I create a character! The intro is good, but then...terrible, unplayable. All details low. My PC: Intel Pentium IV 2,5 GHz Nvidia GeForce FX5200 1 GB RAM

(OT: I play Starcraft II on my other PC, it is not mine:rolleyes:)

Keira;5417863But it lags, if I create a character!
Then don't create a character and it won't lag. :D
Nvidia GeForce FX5200

Of all the graphic cards NVIDIA has ever made, you have the worst one. An entire FX serie is a failed batch. GeForce 4 Titanium models are better than anything from the GeForce FX serie. Perhaps getting a better graphic card would do the trick?

Btw, what OS do you have? XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Minimum System Requirements:

• Windows XP
• 512 MB System RAM
• 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
• 128 MB Direct3D compatible video card
• DirectX 9.0 compatible driver
• 8x DVD-ROM drive
• 4.6 GB free hard disk space
• DirectX 9.0c (included)
• DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card

Recommended:

• 3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
• 1 GB System RAM
• ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card

Supported Video Card Chipsets:

• ATI X1900 series
• ATI X1800 series
• ATI X1600 series
• ATI X1300 series
• ATI X850 series
• ATI x800 series
• ATI x700 series
• ATI x600 series
• ATI Radeon 9800 series
• ATI Radeon 9700 series
• ATI Radeon 9600 series
• ATI Radeon 9500 series
• NVIDIA GeForce 7800 series
• NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series
• NVIDIA GeForce 6600 series
• NVIDIA GeForce 6200 series
• NVIDIA GeForce FX series

As you can see, your graphic card is at the bottom of the list of the supported NVIDIA cards, so I'm afraid you're stuck at the low detail level and with lagging until you get a better graphic card. AGP graphic cards are hard to find these days, though, since they aren't manufactured anymore, so you'd probably have to buy a whole new computer to get something decent. Bummer.

Next year there will be a new, in May. I look forward to it, my computer sucks. My old graphic card was much weaker. An very old ATI Radeon, had under 128MB memory.

Well try to play with low details to reduce the graphic card load. Or yeah think about buying the new one :)
