I been trying to get my firewall enabled on windows XP home edition. When i try to enabke it an error comes up saying this>>> An error occured while Internet connection sharing was being enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start. WHat is this problem and how can i turn my firewall back on?

Log into XP with an owner account. Click the Start button and select Control Panel. Double-click the Network Connections icon. In the Network Connections window, click to highlight the connection you want to protect. In the left panel, under Network Tasks, click "change settings of this connection." When the connection status dialog box opens, click the Properties button. In the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab. Check the box beneath "Internet Connection Firewall." If you leave it unchecked, the firewall is off. If you aren't running any servers on your computer, just click OK. If you run an FTP or Web server, you need to change the advanced settings.

Make sure you are loggin in with the Administrator's account! Leave another message if nothing helps.

Don't bother XP's firewall is kind of rubbish. ;) Just get a good windows firewall, anything but Norton :) Blackide defender is quite solid...

They came out and admited a hole in blackice and patched it strait away.. I used it for years with clearice to send automated abuse reports, never had 1 hacker wannabe on my system.. This IPcop is suposed to be good but i get little info out of it..Probably been rooted and i don't know it ;))
