I've played all sortsa games. Lets see.. as far as fee goes:

EverQuest (aka EQ, EverCrack): After playing for about 3 years, I realized the game involves nothing more than getting the most uber l3wtz. I was left with a gaping hole in my soul at this realization, and thusly i deem EQ EverCrap.

Dark age of Camelot: Kinda fun.. Realm vs Realm PVP with some nifty bonuses. Downside is the graphics are kinda crappy, and the world strikes me as a bit bland.

Asherons Call: Boring. Bland. Moderate graphics; Microsofts cop-out reply to the MMORPG market.

Now, on to the FPS category!

Tribes1: A true FPS classic. Bad computer? No problem. Bad connection? No problem. Runs smooth on a crappy machine running a 33.6k connection. Tribes2: A great thing, but doesnt live up to its previous incarnation. Still loads and loads of fun, and very easy to mod for.

Return To Castle Wolfenstien (voolfenshtein!): Fun as hell, interesting multiplayer gameplay, although finding a server with good ping can sometimes be difficult. Also, theres a new expansion coming out for this game that looks very promising, and its FREE!

Mafia: No multiplayer, but damn is it fun anyway. I always wanted to be a mobster :D. You can hijack all kinds of cool 1930's wheels, and sport the classic Tommy Gun as well! If you've got a sidearm, you can even shoot from your vehicle in any realistically reachable location, which includes behind you at pursuing cops ;) I guess this would be considered a 3rd person shooter, since theres no 1st person view (but dont think that makes the controls hard to cope with).

Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast: Another excellent title. Even the first one was loads of fun, but it got hacked to hell near the end of its glory days. JK2 seems to be hack-proof, as i have NEVER seen one. This title is also moddable, but i dont know how tough it is. Cant be that bad, theres a jk2files.com :D

And last, but CERTAINLY not least: (in a category of its own) The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind This is an excellent piece of gaming joy. A gigantic world with so many things to do, I STILL havent completed all of them (had the game for about a year now I think). Also for Morrowind there is the expansion Tribunal, and the upcoming expansion Bloodmoon (which allows you to become a werewolf!). Morrowind is ridiculously easy to mod for once you get the hang of the included toolset. I still play Morrowind to this day ^_^

Hope this helps!

wow:eek:

thats a superb run down of games, Thanks, im gonna look into a few of the ones you mentioned. I was thinking of everquest but as you say its probably not worth it due the amount of hackers. Looks like it gonna be tribes or maybe rtcw.

thanks again....:D

Sure thing =) EQ doesnt have *many* hackers (i can attest to this because I used to be a guide), but every now and then you'll hear about somebodies account getting hacked, stripped, and pawned off. My beef with EQ was primarily that it was an item-driven game. That's all that mattered. There was absolutly no adventure, contrary to what their commercials will tell you. I almost cringe when I think of how many people will be duped by the "EverQuest: Online Adventures" for PS2 lol. All the cool fight scenes and the dragon and whatnot.

Oh, and one game I can tell you to avoid at all costs: Endless.. er.. something. Endless Ages I think. Programming and graphics are below sub-standard, and the GM's have the attitude and skill to match. Thank god I played the 5 day free trial before paying their incompetant asses a single dime :agreed: If you want the "fantasy roleplaying FPS" kinda game, definatly go Neocron instead. I actually hear GOOD things about it.

RtCW :stallard: But fair warning, the amount of lamers exploiting the game is increasing all the time (they're not technically cheating, so punkbuster doesn't cover it). An example of a mild exploit is that you can set your fps to a certain group of numbers and you'll be able to jump onto boxes you normally can't reach. The more irritating exploits are the ones that alter the weapons' fire, causing the main weapons to fire faster and more accurately- this is the one most losers* use and it's infuriating when your gun fires at a normal rate with normal dispersal pattern. Then there's the cvar lamers which is a whole other matter... Still, Wolfenstein is in my opinion the best team-based fps ever. Like Hostage mentioned, they're planning to release a FREE multiplayer expansion for it too and that thing- if all the reviews are correct -is going to be a huge revamp of team-based fps gameplay. Really looks great.

JKII, I haven't seen any hacks per se either (I mostly steer clear of the awful gun gamemodes and play duel) but there are the people exploiting that one to hell also although it's less frequent. You'll occasionally run into someone that's damn near invulnerable and who always seems to hit you at the weirdest times. I know part of this exploit involves adjusting your packet information, but like I said, the uber lamers aren't plaguing the game so it's a mild concern unless you want to play in serious competition.

Both these games still look beautiful visually and for the most part have great gameplay to boot.

*Losers - you'll know them when you see them. They have no life thus they spend all their time looking up ways to exploit the game so that they can prove to all n00bs (which is everyone playing the game) how l337 they are. Often found in what are supposed to be "good" clans.

I play RtcW sometimes, it´s cool but not as good-looking as BF, of course.

You´ll find me there as Good (K)night, sometimes at the top of the scoreboard, but I may just as well end up at the bottom... :uhm:

You might also encounter my younger brother sometimes, his nick is Hooligan. He´s better than me in RtcW, but I kick his butt in BF!
