Moved from General Discussion to The Movies. Enjoy the new forum ;)

Your video's cool, but kind of... depressing :p. How easy is it to customize the movies? Are there a lot of animation options? I'm assuming you only get to chose from pre-set stuff. If there's a lot of customizing potential I might think about getting it, because that looked really cool.

Well glad you asked Inyri I was dying for a chance to discuss this game.

Anyhow, Basically the actor creation is very similar to that of The Sims, by that I mean you can customise every element of the actors face but not their body. However for the body you can choose out of hundreds of costumes that are in turn customizable (colors and addons).

The movie making element however is a bit restrictive due to its attempt to be easily accessible for anyone, however you can always get around these restrictions by being creative.

For the sets you have about 30 sets to choose from, and you can change its background/backdrop, weather conditions and the props.

Editing is done seperatly after you have put togethor your movie scenes and the editor is as simple as Windows Movie Maker.

Im sorry if I didnt explain that all very well, but to really give you an accurate description of the movie making it would take me hours. Lets just say you can do just about anything youd expect to see in a movie.

Hope I helped.

How restrictive are the animations, though? I can imagine there are only so many to choose from, so without some level of "modding" capability I imagine it would get dull after a while.

Then again, I may have pegged this wrong altogether.

Hmmm well I see what your getting at.

The way it really works is for example: I choose a 'dramatic entrance animation scene' for the start of my movie, which you saw in my one, how he sneaks up on the guard, there is actually a slider for that that you change from aggressive to average to light kinda thing, i had mine on subtle, however on aggressive my guy would have ran out and while still running blasted the guard with his pistol. Thats the kinda system it uses, its all basically slider based.

Damn this is so hard to explain... but believe me its not as simple and restrictive as it sounds.

EDIT: And to wat you said in your pm, its only business based if you play the game in normal mode, i play it in the sandbox mode because i have no intention of building film studio empire, im only interested in making the movies!

Hmm, I might have to get it, then. Even if I got bored of it, I'm sure my sister would have a ball

I just watched some weird sample video and it looks like the animation choices actually have quite a range. My mom's been yelling at me to make a christmas list, so maybe I'll add this to it.

Fill me in more, though. I'm still curious! :p

I would recommend it highly. At first when playing it I was like, "wtf this is soo hard" but now I realise its not really that hard and its quite fun.

Ill post more on the game a bit later, im off to play CounterStrike with some friends :)

Ah so this s the little movie you mentioned to me on MSN yesterday. Short but intresting

Not bad for a first movie I supose though why would the guy with the gun shoot his victem in the belly and after that stab him? It looks nice but it would have made more "sense" when the killer would have shoot his victem in the foot to make him crawl on the ground, he would then reach for his knife and stab the poor guy.

A nice start in all though! The gane doesn't look bad at all though I wonder howlong it would take for aomebody to get bored with it. Any details on it's modability? How easy is it suposed to be to add new (self made) sets, costumes, sounds, animations, models etc?

No I don['t think I will get it myself but let's just say that if I would get it as a gift or stumble upon it I might give it a try. Though if this forum is filled with tons of cool stuff... I migth be persuaded into getting it.
