I just the movies and movies stunts and effects and I'm having trouble installing sets, props, etc. I've read the tutorials on what to do extract to C:Program FileslionheadThe MoviesDatatexturescostumes, I'm working on windows vista it doesn't say C:Program FileslionheadThe MoviesDatatexturescostumes it just says this instead C:\Program Files\Lionhead Studios Ltd\The Movies\Data audio, credits, fonts, into, pak, scenarios, scene, starmaker, text, tutorials, but nothing for textures, costumes. So I try to extract the file to data anyway but when I do it says access denied in winar and I can't do anything. I saw some of the props, sets, and costumes, I really want them for my game but it seems I can't do it . Can someone please help me understand, or maybe it's a vista issue , thanks

I use Perfect Zip, not winar. Maybe it's your unstuffer that's the problem. Just a suggestion. WinZip and others like it have always been a pain in the neck to me, unreliable and confusing to work with. Maybe somebody else has better advice. I don't exactly have Stunts and Effects yet so take my advice with a grain a salt.

Another little trick you might want to try with unstuffing zipped archives is to create a new folder in "My Documents", (name it whatever you think is appropriate like "Movies Game Archives") then drag the stuffed item from the CD/DVD into that folder and proceed to unstuff it from within that folder. The reason for this is that sometimes an unstuff program will attempt to unstuff to the unwritable CD/DVD itself, fail, and crash. Unless you know how to tell the unstuff program to unzip the file elsewhere, say your hard drive, you can run into problems. Also, sometimes what is unstuffed is a huge amount of files and such and you want all that data contained in a folder all its own and not mixed up with other files that belong to other programs! So, try these actions and things should improve regardless of the type of unstuff program you have.

SIMPLIFIED: CREATE A NEW FOLDER IN MY DOCUMENTS. DRAG FILE TO BE UNSTUFFED FROM CD TO SAID FOLDER. TELL YOUR UNSTUFF PROGRAM TO UNZIP THE FILE IN THAT NEW FOLDER. UNSTUFFF WHATEVER IS IN THAT FILE TO THAT SAME FOLDER. DRAG OUT OF OR COPY WHATEVER YOU NEED IN THAT FOLDER TO WHEREVER IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. OR IF IT'S AN INSTALLATION, INSTALL FROM THAT FOLDER. THEN DELETE OR BURN TO CD-MEDIA THE FOLDER IF YOU LIKE. REPEAT THIS PROCEDURE WITH ANY OTHER FILES YOU NEED TO UNSTUFF, ALWAYS CREATING A NEW FOLDER TO UNSTUFF TO.

Take care.
