http://www.usatoday.com/news/gallery/2005/05-12-move/flash.htm Its a shame they had to do this. If there was a solution to the intitial problem, dropping a bomb on the house and letting it burn is not a good idea. And even after the city agreed to rebuild the houses lost for the families who lost them from the fire, they were so poorly constructed that they are now boarded up and crumbling :cort: I love Philadelphia, but this is one of the darkest moments of my home city. Discuss the Bombing here.

I'd never really heard anything about this event. But that really is unfortunate.

It seems like alot of people dont know about this bombing. Remember the song, "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire?" This is where that song came from.

:cort: Naping a residential area? Bad idea... Nothing a good SWAT team couldn't take care of! But hell, that is Philidelphia we are talking about.

That the people were guilty as hell has already been established. It was the right thing to do but the execution sucked. A ground assault or a more appropriate bomb would have been better. That said a ground assault against an urban center of that size may have proven difficult. The collateral damage is regrettable, but moaning about it at this late point changes nothing.

Rememberance will help keep it conscious in the publics mind, and lessen the chances of another event like this.
