Parents: 4th-Grade Girl To Become Boy
Mom Says Youngster Has Male Brain UPDATED: 12:34 pm EST March 4, 2005 METHUEN, Mass. -- A fourth-grader who was attending a Massachusetts elementary school as a girl before February vacation has returned to school as a boy. The parents of the 9-year-old child said the youngster was born with the body of a girl, but the brain of a boy. They have asked that he be referred to and treated as a boy by teachers and other students, and school officials are accommodating the request. The parents have even changed the child's name. The child's mother told The Eagle-Tribune that the family made the decision after consulting with medical professionals. She said the child is still biologically a girl. The mother has requested that the family not be identified to protect the child. School Superintendent C. Phillip Littlefield said there is nothing harmful about the child being in the school.

retarted. "girl born with the brain of a boy" back in my day, we call that a lez-be-an.
This world gets stranger every day.
Talk about a situation doomed to end up on the Oprah Winfrey show, damn. I hope they are atleast sending the child to a school where nobody knows him/her (I'm confused). Sending that poor kid back to the same school is pretty much an invitation to disaster.
its justa mental problem, remember the prisonguy with the sex change? remember that mental problem he had? no different hee, the parents sould haveseeked a phsycyratrist to help her get over the "i want to be a boy" bs and get her in line, not try and make her into a boy
damn she's only in 4th grade, her parents are taking this too far, atleast they didnt make her get a sex change operation... but i'm sure she'll change, she's only in 4th grade if noth then she'll grow up to be gay, but its not like her parents are trying to stop that from happening...
Col Jimmy Emericbut i'm sure she'll change, she's only in 4th grade if noth then she'll grow up to be gay, but its not like her parents are trying to stop that from happening...
That's a good point, atleast her parents are being pretty supportive about the whole thing. Still, it seems a bit drastic for a child that is barely beginning to understand the concepts of gender.

God damn it! There's too much sissy bullshit going around nowadays. Was the time not so long ago when you'd have been knocked across the room for expressing that sort of weakling attitude.
'Born with the body of a girl but with the mind of a boy' THE HELL SHE WAS. The only problem here is her parents didn't hit her enough, didn't show her her place in the world. It's high time these people wake up and take notice; time we stopped having to pander to their pathetic failings.
You cant take life? Oh how very sad; I'm sure you've had such a hard time of it all, perhaps you can sit down around a camp fire and we'll tell each other our stories. Maybe afterwards we can all have a good cry listening to some crappy band and we'll all go home as friends to laa-laa-pixy-cloud-land singing our happy song. Wait thats right! Laa-laa-pixy-cloud-land has no bases in reality, not that you ever let us forget it.
Deal with it in your own head rather than inflicting your problems on everyone else. I don't give a damn what she feels like but it will be a cold day in hell before I stop referring to a girl as a girl just because she happens to be fucked in the head.
I don't want to know about your failings and I certainly don't want you to try and make me treat you differently because you feel like somethings wrong. I've stayed out of your life, you do the same for me and the world becomes just that little bit more tolerable.

The mother has requested that the family not be identified to protect the child.
Although this is probably a question with an obvious answer, what exactly could/would happen if the family were identfied?

Well apart from the blatantly obvious depending upon the family's resources they'd probably fight it out in the courts.
