This is about the misconception of Judeo-Christian Hell. (And some Heaven, later on)
Basically, Hell is not all fire and brimstone. Not one place in the Bible is torture in Hell described, at least not how we view it today. Hell is, essentially, distance from God. Million dollar line- God loves us too much force us to suffer. The Devil is in some uber-deep part of Hell were only the scummiest people go.
Heaven, on the other hand, is not some kind of Paradise in which you get banged by beautiful girls 24/7. It is a Paradise in that you are near to God. That's the whole point of life: to meet your maker. There is no better reward-in my view, anyways.
I hope this post doesnt get ignored because "I dont like Christians because they say if you aint Christian, you burn forever" is kinda heartwrenching to see- I, as a Catholic, do not believe that.
Hmm, Augustinus doesn't agree with you.

Rev 2011: Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12: And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13: The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14: Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15: If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Yeah, that's one passage that he quotes :).
Actually, the Bible refers to hell as "a lake of fire." Now this may not be a literal fire...it may be something like "a fire of remorse."
The Bible also describes heaven, just not in super great detail. It does say that the streets are paved with gold, and the gates inlaid with presious stones...
That was the writers being fancy, so people would give up money on earth to join the nice new religion.

What, you think there's gold up there? That must have cost alot to ship... But anyways, if its there, its more of a state of being than an actual location. Or thats what I think, at least.
Eh...this is a really hard topic to discuss, seeing as the Bible is 100% clear...and we really have no clue. :uhm:
ppl who believe in Jesus and that have excepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior go to Heaven.ppl who don't go to hell.what is the point of this thread?Just read the book of Revelations.
