Why do we debate abortion by moral standards? I don’t believe whether you personally find it ethical to kill a fetus should impede a woman who has an unwanted pregnancy to end it. Assuming abortions were legalized across the board, people who were opposed to them, simply could chose NOT to have them while still leaving the option open to those without moral scruples regarding the matter. The only thing I see accomplished by criminalizing abortion is taking away a woman’s right to her own body, making it instead government property and leading us down a path toward fewer freedoms.

You lookin' for a flame?

PRO-LIFE positions have nothing to do with morality, simply the obvious need to preserve human life. On top of which, if it weren't for morality and it's standings, you'd be speaking God only knows what language.

A woman sacrifices her right to her womb the moment she has intercourse. It's about responsibility, not morality. Stem-cell research has to do with morality, not the actual life of a human being.

Can a unborn child be killed if it hasn't even been born yet?

First off, let's set our definitive ground.

Life does not define as being born, nor vice versa. The process of growth in the womb is long, and tedious. No one knows when the neural pathways develop enough to achieve self-awareness. It's a guessing game, and human lives, especially so yound, shouldn't be determined with chance.

I beg to differ. It has to do with progress vs religious views. This is also a touchy subject. Stem cell research has the potential to help our cure ailments that plague the world today from AIDS to Diabetes. I honestly believe those who are against it really have no one suffering from a so far uncured disease and should have absolutely NO SAY in the matter.

But back on track, I believe it's a woman's choice to have an abortion. Obviously to a restriction that if you can tell the sex, it's too late to have one.

It's murder, it's the exact same thing as murder. This has nothing to do with religion. I am Agnostic, myself. I could care less if God is going to damn me eternally for anything. It's the fact that we're sacrificing life just to let a few sluts off the hook.

Abortion is leading us down a path of complete loss of morality.

Coming soon... Private Mercinary-class Nukes Schools sedating traditionalist teenagers Et cetera

This isn't a clash of morality. YOU ARE KILLING SOMEONE when you have an abortion. Fact.

Even if it is "murder', I believe it is better for the unborn fetus to die than have a parent who cannot support it or does not want to take care of it. "Murder" is more ethical in my opinion.

Our way of life causes many deaths, both by our active participation in it and by our negligence to others on this world. You’re standing on a street running with the blood you've spilt and you claim righteousness out of the hypocrisies you hide behind. Forgive me if I don’t join you.

Iam with ya. But I wouldnt let myself get in to trouble this way. I always do the safe sex thing, not just to keep from getting some kind of virus, but to not have a baby. I have other things to worry about right now. And this subject on these forums is something I have a problem with. This subject is gonna end up in a flame war and someone will be banned because of this. Watch when the bible thumping starts. All hell will break loose in here I just know it.
