No, it isn't. If you read the works of Kierkegaard, he says that faith in Jesus Christ is not only illogical, but it must be illogical, as it is above and beyond the realm of human reason. How does the idea of a man, born from a virgin, the son of God, preaching the Gospel, being killed, rising on the third day, walking around for forty, going to heaven, then coming back millennia later to create a kingdom of God make any sense?

See my above post. Religion cannot be logical, otherwise it would be science, or philosophy, or history, not religion. It all comes down to whether or not you believe that there are things out there that we cannot comprehend or explain.

There are things we cannot comprehend or explain.Yet.

If the religious nuts rule we never will.

1. You're saying, then, that here is nothing we cannot comprehend/explain?

2. The problem with the religious nuts is not that they are religious, but that they are nuts. If they didn't have religion, they'd find something else to screw up.

Since humanity did not know much at all 10 000 years ago or so,or failed to tell us,just give it time.

To me abortion is not relgious its down to murder or not murder. That baby thats growing inside the mother is alive. NOT DEAD. Its murder. Also to kill it before it becomes a baby its STILL ALIVE. ITS ALIVE. NOT DEAD BUT ALIVE. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it. ITS MURDER. You are still killing a living creature. Specialy a creature that will turn into a human being. You could be killing your daughter that could make you laugh and bring you good times. Also if a 15 year old girl gets pregnant its her own fault for having sex instead of waiting. She needs to deal with her own decision she made instead of KILLING her OWN CHILD.

I haven't read this thread but I say my view quite shortly: embryo under 8 weeks is just heap of cells and in this phase the embryo can (in theory) develop into anykind of living creature, human or something else so it's not a murder. After 8 weeks, it becomes clearly distinctive as a human so until this it's okay to make abortion in any circumstances (or even later if it is noticed that the borning baby will be seriously disabled) if there is heavy social reason (rape, wretched economic situation etc). In the very end, it's the decision of mother to make and no-one else's.

Which one is better option: make abortion in early stage or give a birth for child in really unfavourable circumstances, getting another miserable life into the world? I take the first option. Besides, the world is already heavily overpopulated and banning the right to make abortion won't help the situation.

That's why the real question for abortion is this: At what point is the unborn child a person meriting full human rights?

The best site to go for this subject, in my opinion is here: http://www.religioustolerance.org/abo_pain.htm
