Shintsu;3658366 Other countries don't seem to have this problem, no where approachable to the US.
I dunno, spend a few years in another country and you might think differently. Then again I've never traveled overseas so what do I know...
Last week I saw a particularly egoistic person in a supermarket who was obviously very annoyed by the long queue. I let him have my place as sort of social experiment and was surprised to see how much effort it took him to say "thank you".

Yeah, it's quite interesting to see the look on people's faces and how long they take to recover from the fact someone's being polite to them. I seemingly scared my neighbour by politely saying 'Good afternoon' to him when we'd just moved in. Guess he didn't expect a teenager to be polite

yeah remember teenagers are supposed to be evil and cruel muahaha.

anyway, i don't see how just america can be called a selfish land if it has the same wants as everybody else. wouldn't that make the european countries and asian countries and the africans and the aussies selfish too? i can't say thank you lol i've been in tennessee to long so i have to say thankee but it's still the same thing right?

oh yes afterburner the government cared so much that they didn't even warn them of the severity of it, and told the people that were from there they only had like what was it 6 months to get back on their feet after losing everything?

face it the human race has gone to shit, that includes america (all 3 of them) europe, asia, africa, australia, new zealand, and any others i forgot.

Oh gee...I'm a citizen of a selfish nation. So you are saying that we as a nation only think about ourselves and is an image of self-serving in your eyes? You know...I guess you can't count what this nation has done for this world both in money and our own blood. That includes WWII. I guess Brittian and France had Germany exactly where they wanted and did not need our help. Or Berlin did not need out help from starvation and seige when the USSR surround it. Why? Because we're narrow-minded,self-centered Americans.....that's why. Well I just have to except the fact that we Americans are callous self-centeredness has infiltrated every facet of our so called kind and unselfish world. We Americans are wolves, almost subhuman brutal thugs who take advantage of the weak and other kind and good hearted nations.

Yes that correct Jill they only went to war because they were attacked not because they wanted to help out. Because America was attacked

Such a bleak view of human race, why has the human race gone to shit? How has it gone to shit? People have no faith anymore. Contrary to the beliefs of many 15-20 Year Old Philosophers, the human race isn't a cancerous tumor on the Earth. We're just here, there are plenty of good people.

My favorite part of the post was "Face it . ." dude, you've said nothing new. A lot of others have said this because it makes them sound radically different, therefor, by some insane man's logic; intelligent.

Jeffro;3658850They obviously never have stepped into an inner city environment. My girlfriend teaches in an inner city school and I must say, the lack of funding and lack of "middle class values" is horrific. Perhaps you should live in a lower class setting for a week or two, and you'll change your mind about how well our war on poverty is doing...

Because Detroit is such a high class area

It's a shame that the government didn't show the same kindness.

That's not their job, atleast not in my opinion.

I never thought of opposing beliefs as nothing better to do. Oh, and isn't Iraq a disaster? ;)

Some people just can't take a joke I don't think.

I dont think we are selfish at all. We have helped out many countries just in the past 50 years. I know many people are saying we didnt help Iraq at all, but we got Saddam out. If you look at all the recent conflicts we have been in, the U.S. has helped out at least one country every time.
