I've important news for you all, the President has announced today the goal of his next war, he says he plans to begin combat in Britain and continue fighting until this enemy is eradicated.

Who is the great new enemy to our freedom as American people? Flanking Maneuverists.

Thats right, this insidious enemy has attacked us time and time again throughout our revolution and is even active in modern day warfare to some extent. How can we defeat such a subversive group? The President has declared that all our military forces will be used to make sure that no matter where these 'flankerists' hide, the American people will be there, keeping our lands safe.

Please I beg of you, keep in mind the terrible loss of life that the American people have suffered due to this horrible enemy and support the President, the troops and this new war against a dangerous enemy. All our hopes rest in our ability to defeat them, before they defeat us.

God bless America.

I totally don't get it, what does flanking have to do with Britain, and why does G.W dislike people who like to flank?

Aeroflotte;4044809Book, you're more than welcome to post your point whenever you feel like it.

His point was self-contained in the satire he's written here. Using a similar rationale and propaganda campaign, Book is demonstrating how any group or individual can be made to be the enemy using a link that doesn't implicate it in any way. The idea seems to be that if the public sees a reputable link that shows the "threat" as "real" (Real in this case being that they exist, therefore they are a threat), then fear can be inspired.

Governments have realised this, and use it to great effect. Whether they do it for every war is left as an exercise for the reader. The point, however, is quite evident. At least to me.

I figured he wasn't just posting this as spam, but I wouldn't have understood what he was talking about if you didn't catch on. It's sketchy.

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

Replace flank with terror and you'll get the message.

I'm showing the idiocy of declaring a war on a tactic. (such as terror.)
