Well, talk about irony!

After all that whining about how mankind is destroying the entire universe - looks like Mr. Gore's own energy usage is about ten times the national average.

Apparently he's too important to follow his own rules. thatsgreat.gif

Not exactly setting a good example, but it's not surprising in the least. Rich people generally use way more than average electricity.

But company spokeswoman Laurie Parker said the utility never got a request from the policy center and never gave it any information. Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said: "Sometimes when people don't like the message, in this case that global warming is real, it's convenient to attack the messenger."

Just because he might be a hypocrite doesn't mean his message is wrong. If a serial killer tells you not to murder, it doesn't make murder any less wrong.

I think he should give all his wealth to the poor and to ecologic projects if he wants to be convincing. I hate hypocrites.

I doubt the numbers show exactly what he's spending his energy on... It's a bit unfair to attack a man when you don't know the details.

Gore has nothing to do with global warming, the fact his movie opened peoples eyes to the problem is fantastic, but we shouldn't be focusing on the messenger, we need to be focusing on the problem.

and the dude was almost the president of the united states, of course hes going to have a huge fucking house that eats up voltage.

While Im not saying that it isnt possible the amount Gore's mansion is using could be true but the thing that stands out in that article is the part that says whoever revealed this information didnt actually talk to any of the power companies dealing with how much electricity Gore is using...hmm...suspicious eh?

Neo conservatives are a bunch of back stabbing under handed turds so for all we know they could've very well just made it up and decided to unveil it after he won the oscar. Who knows?

But when you think about it...arent many of the people who support the idea of global warming and its dangers to the earth being hypocrites anyway? Think about it. If you really DIDNT want to be a hypocrite you'd basically have to live without electricity, walk everywhere, and basically never again use anything which emits potentially dangerous chemicals into the air.

There are ways of generating energy without having to live in a cave. Most people don't think about it, but there are personal windmills that can actually generate enough energy to fulfill household needs and send excess back into the power grid. There are solar panel alternatives that can be mounted on your roof and there are ways of generating great amounts of energy off of compost.

People don't widely use such alternatives because they cost a little coin and take a little time to setup.
