Machiavelli's Apprentice;3559677Well, talk about irony!

After all that whining about how mankind is destroying the entire universe - looks like Mr. Gore's own energy usage is about ten times the national average.

Apparently he's too important to follow his own rules. thatsgreat.gif

Oh oh but he buys carbon credits so it all evens out in the end! :D

Oh well, he deserves a big TV anyway. Punny thread though. Hmmm. I wonder how much work was done by him in the movie... Or if they just used him as a figure. Edit: meh nvm

That carbon credit thing is a little hard to understand. You basically pay for trees to be planted. But it takes 20 years from a tree to get the return in clean air vs. the carbon you produce in like an Gulfstream flight that only takes a few hours. I don't quite understand it. It sounds like double talk to me this carbon credit bull.

Heard about that too, even though it takes a while to have effect, it's basically a good idea and not expensive.

Nonetheless it's still better not to waste energy in the first place.

it's basically a scam to make people feel better about themselves and to make a few enviro-gestapo people very rich.

Pretty much.

Anyone ever heard of the increase in temperature during the Dark Ages?

Or how about the Global Cooling scare in the 70s?

Probably not. Global Warming is a bunch of bullshit. Research the solar activity taking place and you will quickly understand.

Good job Karst, you hit the nail on the head. This isn't an issue of whether or not global warming is man-made, this is just an example of arrogance. Only the "little people" need to cut down on energy consumption.

Jeffro;3560199Bush snorted mounds of cocaine as a youngster, yet he promotes a war on drugs. Hypocrite!!!!!111!!

Someone hasn't been paying attention in Sunday school.:lookaround: Repentance/reformation is not hypocrisy. So he was a bit wild when he was young - but later married and straightened out. That's a very common story for men. We do crazy shit when we're young and foolish, but "grow up" and stop doing it. Bush snorted when he was young - decades ago. That is not hypocrisy. Gore is breaking his own rules, AFTER he said them. That is hypocrisy. Reforming and changing your behavior is not hypocrisy. Preaching something and doing the exact opposite is.

I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be true. "Green" politicians over here usually drive the heaviest luxuray-cars they can get. Power corrupts.
