Actually, this is precisely the kind of group I've thought the USA should have more of a role in fighting. LRA's fucking nuts.

It sounds pretty fantastic, actually, so I'm wondering what the catch is. The article mentioned that some of the activities could take place in South Sudan. I think I see a new airbase in that country's future.

Because the Europeans fucking that continent up wasn't enough? What good could this possibly do? Foreigners are the reason that continent is in its current state, foreigners are not going to bring it back to its feet. We failed in the Middle-east and we'll fail here too.

Awesome, I know the Sudanese in the south could really use the help. They have it rough since most of the resources are in the north and unless something's changed in the last couple weeks the roads are still blocked.

I doubt it will be managed in a way that will help much, but as Crazy said, this is the sort of thing the US should be using its power for. We should be helping countries who need it, and not just push our own agendas. I'm sure there is a reason beyond humanitarian concerns, but Sudan is an absolute hellish nightmare of a country and could really use some help.

Well, it could stop one of the longest running religious paramilitary organizations, one which has used child slavery and sex trafficking to further its goals. I dunno, that sounds like a pretty good target to me.

When did we fail in the Middle East?
