Under military law, military members can be held accountable for crimes committed under the guise of "obeying orders," and there is no requirement to obey orders which are unlawful.

Wich means he must be politically aware of what he is doing, and ensure the "task" he is doing is right. In other word, "blind obediance" is dangerous.

Komrad_BWhat would you do if you were ordered to murder civilians?[/QUOTE]

Then I can refuse to comply under the grounds that it is not a legal action of war. I will most likely be court-martialed but I can use that as my defence and I may not be convicted.

Thats it right there. I can refuse to obey any order. I will be court-martialed for it but if it was an immoral order I can use that as a defence.

I wont be a completly autonomoious, I will still think, I will still react. but my purpose will not be to question WHY we are in Iraq, moreso WHAT I need to do.

Oh really? What were we fighting in Grenada? Hell, a Molotov cocktail could cover the island.

Oh im still psychotic, just not on the same level as I was pre-Marine Corps. On a 1-10, 1 being absolutly sane and 10 being absolutly insane, I was a 9 easily, but now im a 6 or a 5, mabey even a 4.5.

That's odd, hearing someone claim the Marine Corps has mellowed them out :D
