I genuinely dislike these terms. I feel as though when you label yourself, you force yourself to accept certain positions in a narrow field even though you may personally disagree with them.

As a Catholic and as a humanist, I have many views that cross over these lines. For instance, many people would say being pro-life is conservative. And I am pro-life, and that is a very conservative position. Yet at the same time, I am anti-death penalty, which many would say is a liberal position. I just say it is a Catholic position. I accept the Church's teachings on these issues because they are logical and make sense to me. However, I am constantly chastised by fellow conservatives for my opinions on death penalty, illegal immigration, the environment, among a few others. (Oh, by the way, that brings up a good point, since when is it "liberal" to be pro-environment?)

So to me, I couldn't really answer this question correctly, merely for the fact that I can't bog myself down by labels. Everyone should have conservative opinions, and everyone should have liberal opinions. We are not one dimensional beings that follow a certain belief set just because it falls under a category. We should all have to think about certain issues and decide for ourselves whether they are right or wrong.

Like you said many people cannot be accurately labeled. This doesn't stop people from applying a label if you got strong liberal/conservatibe views.

I would most likely be labeled a liberal, even though i got some conservative views as well.

I guess when it comes straight down to it, I tend to lean conservative a lot. I take a very orthodox approach when it comes to my Church teachings. Orthodox in that I accept them fully. I didn't always accept them fully, or even believe for that matter. I do however disagree with republicans on a lot of things, which is why I don't always vote that way even though they claim to be the conservative party.

I did not vote in this recent election because I did not like any of the candidates. I was an informed non-voter.

Moderate would probably best describe me. People always confuse me for a liberal or a conservative because my stances vary quite a bit, but when it comes down to it I try to balance my views so neither side pulls be away. I apply the saying "Take the Middle Way" to politics as well as other parts of life.

Though I'd consider myself a moderate, my stances probably lean more over toward liberal. People really should be progressive and work for attaining more freedoms (such as gay marriage). Conservatism is been by me as more of--and I know this is a bad view of it--a system of traditions which people like because they work for them. Traditions aren't a good way of working with government, because if new issues are brought up it takes a while to get anywhere. It's like coming upon an airplane and opening the Bible to see if it's good or not.. the Bible doesn't mention planes, so it takes a while to see if an airplane is a good thing or not. That's not the best analogy, but I think you see my point.

Liberal Leaning Centerist AKA: LLC L L CoolJ

I tend to be conservative a lot, but when it gets down to how countries are run I go more liberal.

Excuse the cliche: People should not be afraid of their governments; Governments should be afraid of their people

It isn't about you you'd vote for but what beliefs you hold. I didn't vote but that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion.

I'm economically conservative in every way, but socially liberal in every way except my stance on abortion. I'm what you call a Libertarian. However, I recognize the need for compromise, so I'm a bit more centrist in how I would actually apply policies.

I'm liberal, leaning on socialism, though I'm still not completely sure about. I'll stick with capitalism for now until I know everything.
