GedThe media often invade places they are neither wanted nor have any business other than being nosy bastards filming in the first place. We need some laws to restrain them from harassing people as much. War is not a spectator sport, the cameras have been in long enough, now it's time to get them out, let our troops stop acting for the cameras and get down to the serious work.

=Well said Ged.=

MihailNope, the media should be allowed to anywhere, the rule is, whatever they capture on film, they are allowed to bring it back.

And then they sift through it to find what suits thier agenda.

Combat crews with cameramen following behind! WHY!??

[size=2]Why do the guys in combat allow these film people to follow?

The military invited them. They inbed reporters with squads, platoons, divisions, etc, to record battlefield action.

Its ironic tho that the reporters are there to cover the battles, and when they show what happens during the battles of a war to Americans, they say how bad it is, yet they wanted the war.... its like people dont actually kno what goes on during war.

Most clips of fighting in the Iraq War that I have seen have not portrayed the Americans as bad guys, and have not portrayed the war as wrong. In fact, I've never even seen the thing about the injured Iraqi insurgent getting shot. Most of the time, the media just shows some American soldier shooting an indistinguishable target far away, or throwing a grenade at something that can't be seen.

A new Sergeant we just got in my unit came back from Iraq a few weeks ago, and the stories he tells me are amazing. He was doing the convoy security, and his humvee had no armor, and still they dismounted, and fought the terrorists, when their convoy was ambushed, to let them escape. Some of his friends died in front of him.

I have 5 guys from my unit going there sometime this month. I hope they all come back

If the media was not allowed to have freedom of the press, the media would be no better then a goverment ran station.
