So now with Obama's speech over, the DNC is winding down. Everything went pretty much according to plan, but the event wasn't as civilized as the media cameras portray it to be. Several 'conservative' people were attacked by hordes of rabid liberals, who were screaming profanities, and using foul hand gestures, some even shoving and striking. These are the videos to prove: and the other... it takes a while for the 'action' to start: Civilized? I think not. They might have free speech to protest, but where is the free speech of the people being harassed? These people are animals, I consider myself middle left, and even I have to admit, you wouldn't see something like, or as profound as this happening at the RNC. I'm disappointed at my own party.

You got the right to say whatever you want but you also have the right to be responsible for where and when you say it. Going to the DNC with a heavily rightarded point of view will go as well as standing in Baghdad trying to convert people to Judaism... I believe the internet term for what these jokers were doing is called 'trolling'

Jokers? You can't seriously say these people are joking. Aside from that, Griff is a reporter, it's not like he's trolling around provoking this kind of stuff. Reporters don't make stuff to report, they report it. Although I can't say the same thing for Michelle, since I don't know what she was doing. And what's with the whole 'rightarted' thing anyway? Are you so juvenile that you can't keep insults out of the simplest things(Although that makes me juvenile for calling you juvenile.)(Also assuming that is an insult, may just be a typo?)? I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only sane liberal left... haha, get it, left.

It's bad enough if violent scuffles break out at any demonstration, but to be honest, screaming profanities and making foul hand gestures may be rude, but is not what I'd call an out of control demo. Same goes for the undefined some that resorted to what appears to have been mild violence, so to speak.

It's regrettable that there was any kind of violence, but these people are rightfully pissed off, and compared to a lot of the demonstrations going on all over the world every day, this one can only be described as harmless.

I saw the Fox news coverage, which, needless to say, was pretty sad. They were suggesting that because people were swearing at their reporter and refusing to answer questions they don't support free speech

The first video is funny and ironic since so many Europeans feel Americans live and breath Fox news.

The second video the guy is a idiot attempting to cause a scene.

Lol, i must have struck a chord (a very angry one) with some folks in here if my private messages are any indication. To Toefurkey: Reporters can be the ULTIMATE trolls: Case and point, the not so unrecent scuffle between Lebanon and Israel saw respected members of the journalistic career path photoshopping extra damage and destruction into images in order to inflame viewers and form a preconceived notion. A reporter reports on news, but dont put it past anybody to go out of their way to make their own news to have something to report on. The slang terms for people who do such a thing are shrills and the people that assist are plants. Example, i want to do an expose on how a local PTA board is full of blathering racist, i send an aquaintance or hell just some guy i paid off, to stir controversy at a meeting i happen to have a camera at, little judicious editing later and i have a story. Welcome to the wonderful world of misinformation.

On usage of the word rightarded. Its an accurate discription. I myself am a conservative (as anybody who has been in the Pub longer then 5 hours and has seen my post here will tell you) but what i dont abide by are idiots who take upon themselves to manufacture some kinda of psuedo controversy to make their own side look better. When lefties do it i call them leftarded, when my fellow conservatives do it, they are rightarded. Going to the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION and willfully and spitefully causing forment so as to get some kind of limp dick social response to spoon feed your audience is stupid...retarded actually, and doing so for the 'benefit of the right makes it rightarded. The same as a bunch of ACLU hacks waving Mexican flags on US soil in protest of the Border Patrol cracking down on illegal immigration is #%^# leftarded. You call me juvenile but you seem to lack the finer points of my post and, like a child, honed in on the one insignificant portion of the entire post to base an entire reaction around. An overreaction to be sure at the least.

In essence, if you find your personal views being butthurt by others on this forum and in the Pub in particular you got two choices. Learn that everyones opinion is different and enjoy the spirited debate that situation leads to and grow thricker skin. Or go bugger off. I disagree with guys like Fancypants all the time but he is one of my favorite guys to listen to simply because of his outside interpretation of things.

Epic trolling.

Nothing new, this sort of thing has been going on for ages. Both sides are guilty of it.
