This is some weird shit that flew under the radar somehow. The FBI is currently investigating two bombings that have been the cause of two deaths and one injury. The bombings occurred at residences, where packages had been left.

The FBI are currently not able to say if they're linked, and are trying to determine if it's a hate crime as the victims were African Americans. According to the police chief, the USPS has no record of delivering the packages to the homes, which indicates that they could be private deliveries - and thus targeted deliveries.

This is a pretty horrifying situation, to be honest. I mean, any situation where you can get hurt or killed is horrifying, but when someone leaves these bombs at your doorstep? That's extra terrifying.

I hadn't heard of these at all over here, then again I do avoid the news a lot.

My guess is that since it's still a local thing (to Austin) the national news won't pick it up until they have something more to go on.

There has been another explosion, this time injuring an elderly woman. They're still trying to figure out if it's linked, as it just happened, but if it is linked, I think it'll get picked up by national news now.

Well, there's no doubt now. Austin is suffering from a serial bomber. Sunday night, two men were injured as they walked through a neighbourhood. According to officials, this bomb was more sophisticated and featured a tripwire mechanism, which could indicate that either the bomber has honed his skills, or it's a job of more than one person.

A fifth bomb has exploded this morning at a FedEx facility in Austin, too, and the FBI are currently investigating to see if they can tie it to the other explosions. Whereas the first three bombs were targeted at individuals and residences, the fourth appears to have been far more random, and the fifth may have been targeted at the facility itself - or the address, perhaps, it was bound for.

Fuckin' creepy shit, yo.

Well the suspected bomber is dead. I won't name him as the fucker doesn't deserve it but the FBI and police closed in on him near his home and he blew himself up in his car.
