from the news posted "For more than a week, Ria Ramkissoon watched passively as her one-year-old son wasted away, denied food and water because the older woman she lived with said it was God's will." damn story is about God-religion And since it's about God, and some sicko family, it pops up on filefront. Now who is going to ban Dragonelf68 ???

We had a thread about a Cav talking about his current experiences. Apparently all thats left is some rare radicals in Kirkuk that drop IED's that don't detonate, not all that bad TBH.

Also, why not? If Religion is causing some problem it good to discuss it, whose responsible? religion or idiot? Even Fox news IIRC reports these types of cases.

You see, that's the great thing about freedom of speech. Anyways - if these über religious dip shits would stop doing stupid stuff, then there would be a lot less of these threads (Just like the threads about how crappy the public schools system is in parts of the USA).

So, tbh, it's the idiots attached to religion you should be mad at - they make the normal religions guys look like dicks by association...

[QUOTE=Warforger;5278011] Also, why not? If Religion is causing some problem it good to discuss it, whose responsible? religion or idiot? Even Fox news IIRC reports these types of cases.

Say a person likes some the tenets of the KKK charter (If it even has one), and disapproves of the rest. So this person claims KKK 'membership' or adherence for the sake of those few tenets. They firmly believe in those few bits, while rejecting most of the negative aspects for which we all know the KKK for. Now does that absolve them of the actions made by the KKK on the whole? Would it be unreasonable for others to reject this persons distinctions between what parts they do follow, and what they don't, and just call it like they see it, KKK. Switch it up with who ever, hell Nazi's works. Yeah, a friendly nazi who's sympathetic to the human plight of the jew and is only serving through a long standing family tradition. His reasons whatever they happen to be, don't matter. See, he's still participating.

Imagine you're part of a coalition of businesses, and you find out that many of the businesses within this coalition are secretly selling synthetic drugs (not the good natural ones), or are prostituting children, or even manufacture dildos or whatever. Would you remain in the coalition or leave it? It's the same for religion, many of which pride themselves on unity, unless of course the actions of an individual within their group reflect poorly on them, then it's "they weren't the right kind of christian, or not true christians, or they were misguided ect, ect, and that unity is no where to be found.

Do you see where this is going?

I cant help but notice these people making statements like "making my belief look bad" ect, ect. Forgetting for a moment that these beliefs do that all on their own. It's not your belief system to begin with, you're just a part of it. It's only strength and ability comes from you, and others like you. Therefor the responsibility for the actions, or inaction's of those within this belief system are shared amongst all of you. How is that possible? Why of course though continued participation and adherence to the belief system that not only attracts villainous people, but fosters them.

These broad sweeping generalizations and accusations, are probably wildly incorrect, but I've made them anyways.

Feel free to overlook them, trash them, belittle or point out the flaws. If anything, its fodder for the writing.
