I don't really get out much, I have friends, just not many, seeing as how I just moved from Massachusettes (proof that I lived there just cause I can spell it :D ) to California. I never really go anywhre with friends, or do anything. I want to change this but, I'm really quiet most of the time, and I can never really work up the "courage" so to speak, to actually go out anywhere. It doesn't feel like I'm phrasing this right, but I can't really think of a better way. BTW, I'm not a huge geeky kid who never speaks or anything, or lives on my computer, I'm just too shy most of the time, when I try to speak, it can feel the words are stuck in my throat, lol. I'm worried that living like this is sort of "hurting" me, but I can't seem to fix it.

I sort of had this problem when I was a little younger, just not as 'drastic'. I cant really say how I over came this, it just sort of happened. But one thing, the people I started hanging out with at school etc really bought me out of my shell. Try to get yourself participating in things, like sport, junk at school and so on. A job will also really help with your communicating, and I mean really help.

I remember being like this as well as a child, and I simply moved past it with self-confidence by being exposed to people around me, mostly in school. After talking to random people, I began to feel more comfortable with myself and became less and less shy as time progressed. Try to converse with more people around you that you find interesting, and I think that it should work out for you. ;)

I'm almost 'bipolor' in this area (for lack of a better term). Around some people, I'm shy, quiet, and don't say much and they wish I would talk more . . . others can't get me to shut up . . . that's just the way I'm built . . . (mostly girls want me to talk more, guys want me to shut up . . . . )

Well, I'm not socially disabled or anything lol, I talk to my friends and things, I don't get nervous around girls, I just don't get out enough, or anything like that.

exactly like me :) why dont you try having a party for just a small group of friends? not some of the ones you are shy around, but ones that you know well?

I hate meeting people for the first time, because its akward and I get really shy and nervous. I also hate large groups of people, i'm actually really comfortable alone. When people first meet me they think i'm shy or really quiet which isn't true it really just depends on the type of people I meet. (enough rambling) Anywho, just try to find some people who are into the same stuff you are and everything will just fall into place. It took me forever to get as comfortable as I am with most of my friends right now.

yeah, moving has gotta be one of the hardest things to do... ive always wondered how hard it would be...

well, since you moved in just a few weeks ago, what you're doing isnt abnormal... were you like this before you moved too?
