Hello. Umm, well Im just wondering what everyone's view is of the ruling passed on The Genocide issue? I think we all know most of the common facts of the war, and the people dead, etc. etc.

The thing is..it gets me kinda angry knowing all these people died, and such a ruling passes[while on the other hand they are trying to "save darfur"..] Does anyone think the serbs shouldve been atleast convicted and held responsible for thier actions? (well this just shows more and more why im starting to hate and lose MORE faith in the UN) Im having a discussion about this right now, at home, and I want to know how the more..westerner people see it.

I guess im kinda angry also about the political/religious side to it definatly..

The last thing I heard was that 5 people were convicted for war-crimes. What is so bad about this ruling?

The save Darfur issue has been enhanced because of all the 'cause celeb' bunch led by George Clooney. People pay attention to what a bunch of spoiled, over-indulged, former waiters think now.

Bosnia is a tough nut to crack. There is not a clear bad guy. Westerners like their good guy-bad guy thing to be very defined. When the sides aren't defined clearly, that's when the well intentioned screw ups happen.

MrFancypantsThe last thing I heard was that 5 people were convicted for war-crimes. What is so bad about this ruling?[/QUOTE] Well the ruling about it NOT being genocide while it clearly looked like one considering the number of bosnians killed, how and where they were killed, and how women were 'treated' by the serbs. I will let you guys in on something...the muslim world sees this as more christians backing up each others and not helping muslims in thier cases..No Genocide in Serbia, Not much help in chechen wars, all rulings to help palastine either vetoed or not followed through, etc. etc. while on the other hand you see things against Sudan(which although i actually agree with) wtc. But this isnt about sudan or anything, its just about who was seriously backed up and or prosecuted in these examples..

[QUOTE=Hawkeye] There is not a clear bad guy.

I've heard that before yes.. but I, and i've seen numerous other non-muslims agree that the serbs definatly pursued this war in a very different and sick fashion[as opposed to croatians and bosnian], especially the many videos that came out with the war, etc. So I myself see that the ruling should've been that there WAS genocide...

There was a thread about this a little over a year ago somewhere, but it had rather obscene images that resulted in the thread being removed. I stopped following this a while ago after Rwanda happened, never bothered to find out what was happening again.

Anyone care to bring me up to date? And if anyone wants, I will pm the links for the images to you. But I warn you, they are VERY graphic, but give you a better sense of what went on.

I'm not saying that I don't know what is happening there. I was speaking about how little is really known in the US. Bosnia has been on the back burner for quite a while now. In all honesty, it's probably done somewhat on purpose. If the muslims are the good guys, no one is going to run to the news to report anything positive about it. It's not right that people can't see the difference between a terrorist and everyone else. The terrorists kill muslims too.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6540645.stm wow ironically BBC posted this an hour or so after I posted my post..

@Vasili: What was just shown on TV? :P Well anyhow, the ruling happened in Feburary this year. They ruled that there was no genocide..although dont use Wikipedia I see its conflicting on the Serbrenica Massacre and Bosnian Genocide Articles.(one claims it WAS, while the other said it isnt, which is true to the second) If anyone knows how to contact them about this please go ahed, because I dont know how to do it myself..

In all honesty the War is what broke up what was once[well many times] known as Yugoslavia.. The conflict had around maybe 3 main sides(?) But others took independence as well(Kosovo?).. During the war there ave been many accounts of them taped, of mass killings of Muslim bosnian males, and the rapes of almost all females they came upon[some repeatedly raped]. Bosnians had the most civilian casualties at the end.

Milo, I'd like the images please, I can handle it. I remember the thread as well...We'll keep this one clean.

You care deeply about your faith and your people. What's more significant is how much you seem to care about the future of it all. You think about it every day, don't you?

If there is only 1 small serving of harmony & happiness left in this world; I truly hope it comes your way.
