As many of you are doubtless aware the British government has decided to distribute a terror advice Pamphlet in coordination with television and radio adverts to every home in the United Kingdom, so what’s your opinion on this? Scare mongering against something there is no defence against, or something that may possibly save your life.

My opinion is... short of detonating a nuclear bomb (which would essentially screw us unless they're including free radiation suits with those things), where I am is reletively safe from terrorist threats simply because there's nothing here. Even if there were something worth attacking here, very few people, even in Britain, know where Telford is without looking on a map (some haven't even heard of it), so it's not exactly going to have the same impact as knocking down the WTCs in New York City... It's probably just to reassure people. Make 'em think they can do something if there is an attack. Just like when they told people to duck under tables in the event of nuclear war... hardly going to help you, but hey, if the idiots are comforted by that, then so be it.

I hadn't even heard about; I thought we were being a lot more relaxed about this than the Americans. All I've seen is those SkyOne "here's what you do if 9/11 happens in exactly the same way again" programs, which I thought was just Murdoch rubbish.

I voted that they're pointless, but that might just be speaking for myself. I wouldn't pay much attention because I don't work in an office block, and don't fly all that much, and if they set off a dirty bomb or anything I'm just a gonner anyway. They're not all that bad a thing, but I don't think the British people need to be taught about terror - we've lived with it for thirty years, I don't see much reason for us to change.

I don't watch much TV, so it was pure chance when I saw a TV advert about the leaflet. And I agree.

What a waste of paper, will someone please think of the trees! Anyways, I say these are completely pointless. 100% common sense is what they are:

Terror Adivce Pamphlet If there is a fire, get out, stay out, and call 999

Is that just common sense? Why would I want to stay in a fire? What a complete waste of money the British Government has put into this pamphlet.

Even though I'm not in the UK I think there just stupid. In a Terror attack ppl are filled with "terror" and will forget the intructions. Where I am there is relly nothing i could do in the event of a terror attack. I live about 25miles away from the shippingsport power plant in PA. It is very well protected from what i have herd. But if i would be destroyed the radation leak would harm/kill about a million ppl near me:uhoh:.
