Since this is all over the news, and we've been talking about John Kerry...I found this appropriate. Check out these links..then post. http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/09/08/bush.national.ap/index.html http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/09/06/bush.records.ap/index.html http://abcnews.go.com/sections/Politics/Vote2004/Bush_National_Guard_040908-1.html http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/08/60II/main641984.shtml Some things that I found interesting.

CNN.comThe Pentagon and Bush's campaign have claimed for months that all records detailing his fighter pilot career have been made public, but defense officials acknowledged Tuesday they had found two dozen new records detailing his training and flight logs after the AP sued and submitted new requests under the public records law.
So now they release them only after being threatened with the law? :uhm:
A group called Texans for Truth planned to launch an ad this week in which a lieutenant colonel in the Alabama Air National Guard questions Bush's absence from his National Guard service in Montgomery, Alabama. The group says it plans to spend about $100,000 to run the ad. The ad asks "Was George W. Bush AWOL in Alabama?" and implores: "Tell us whom you served with Mr. President." In the ad, Bob Mintz claims he served at the same air base and in the same unit as Bush in 1972 but never saw Bush there. "It would be impossible to be unseen in a unit of that size," Mintz says in the ad. "AWOL" stands for Absent Without Leave.

Haha, Texans for Truth..take that Swift Boat Vets! After reading the CBS News one...It looks like Bush got into the National Guard because he was rich, and his family was able to pull strings. Not suprising though. Anyways, don't turn this into flaming. Your thoughts? PS: LoL, this seems to be turning out to what equates to payback for John Kerry..

I say big deal. Who cares what he did back when he was supposed to serve? He wanted to run in political campaigns, and they let him. Just like no one exept for them idiot swift boat people care what John Kerry did in Vietnam. Well I am sure some people care, but not many anymore. I will laugh if John Kerry uses this as a campaign strategy after all the pressure his party gave the Bush administration over the Swift Boat ads. But I could care less what he did, really. Bush showed how good a leader he was when he went after the terrorist who attacked our country. He is more then qualified to lead a nation, regardless of what he did 30 years ago.

I think it's bullshit. Bush is happy to see these records released, because it put the focus on the past, rather than scrutinizing his decisions as CinC.

The difference between John Kerry's service in Veitnam and Bush's service in the guard is that Bush didn't make it a main issue in his campaign. Kerry on the other hand did because that is all he has. If the democrats actually tried to campaign for Kerry instead of against Bush they would be in even worse shape because Kerry can't keep his opinions straight. Kerry also has a horrible voting record. The only way the Democrats think they can win is through the "anybody but Bush" attitude. Maybe next time they will pick someone with potential and leadership abilities instead of a "war hero/war protester" that confuses himself.

What does that have to do with Bush's guard service? You can't prove someone doesn't have something, it is impossible.

I think he was inciting some anti-Bush sentiment.

Interesting stuff: Apparently the memo supposedly from Lt. Col. Albert C. Lloyd can be reproduced perfectly on Microsoft Word. Hmm...

If your war president is so tough, why didn't he go to Vietnam?

Tell me, what is sooo important about Vietnam-or any other conflcit for that matter-that you have to serve in order to become president?
