The only games I ever play are on the Super Nintendo and N64.

Their still games.

Well, this is a problem, and like every problem there is a solution. You have to pick your priorities first, and gaming shouldn't be one. I game, but I never put it in front of school or anything else thats important.

Yeah, but I only play them once or twice a week. Video games no longer appeal to me, besides the old school stuff. I recently beat SMB3 on the Super Nintendo. That's the kind of stuff I play, because it is entertaining when you are bored. Nothing else.

Now I decided to replay Occarina of Time again, funnest game ever.

As for gaming as a priority, I'd look to other things such as learning languages or making money as top priorities, and resorting to gaming when the woman is all worn out and you have absolutely nothing whatsoever productive to do. I'd actually try gaming maybe once or twice a week, for an hour. That will easily get rid of the gaming addiction you suffer from.

It depends entirely on the person, CNOW. For some, an hour will allow them to slowly get gaming out of their system, for others, it will only make them more susceptible to getting back into the addiction.

Well, I thought that this thread would receive more negative replies than positive, or helpful replies. But I was wrong. Glad to know others have had the same dilemma and dealt with it. Whether it's gaming or any other hobby that gets in the way, it's all about getting off your ass to make a choice. So thanks for your ideas everyone.

I have played games since I was 6. I never let it get beyond 4 hours in one sitting. I would play for an hour or 2 then go and do something else. During the summer I would play more, but I never got beyond 4 hours at once. Now I have a job 5 days a week, and that gives me little time for games. Now I can only play 2 or 3 hours a day max. Get a job that takes some enegry. When you come home you will need to sleep at some point.

Anyone with a stong mind can break an addiction.

jackthehammerAs much as I like gaming, I dont do it very often. there was a time where I fucked up an entire semester playing SoF2 and CSS.. at the end I looked back and saw that I acclomished NOTHING, expect for a number 1 rank on a CSS server, which, quite frankly is nothing either. Pull yourself together, you are 22 for god sake, get a life, job, and use the computer in your spare time. You will enjoy your computer time a lot more that way. + you get a future. I honostly cant believe your g/f has been putting up with your lifestyle for over 3 years.. :vikki: Gaming is a hobby, youll have to have a future to get somewhere in life.

I agree with everything you said. I fucked up my whole 1st quarter( I am still in high school) I realised I learned absolutley NOTHING in my classes, i was behind, but i actually did the work, and now I am much happier balancing out my time instead of jsut thinking about/gaming.
