02/22/2009 - Charity yanks free house to vet over pot bust - STLtoday.com

vethome625feb20.jpg

Iraq War veteran Scott West stands at a park near his home in Branson, Mo. West, who lost both legs in the war, was selected by a national charity to receive a free custom-built home, but then had the offer rescinded by the charity when he was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Indian giving twats. If he happened to be a binge drinker, I imagine the charity would just look the other way. What a hypocritical crock.

And every one who says "but Cannabis is illegal" or "the law is the law for a reason" can check their pious internal dialogue at the door. Every law on the book is NOT the moral absolute, because there are plenty laws that happen to be irrational, arbitrary, and draconian in terms of punishment.

Self righteous mother fuckers. Half of them probably smoked weed at some point or another in their lives, now they're judging a crippled veteran because he smoked some pot. Burn in hell bitches, he's done a lot more than they'll ever do in their miserable little pathetic lives.

What a crock of shit.

I'd like to see Mr. John Gonsalves fight in Iraq, have both of his legs blown off, and then come back home and see how easy it is for him.

That's terrible. Over marijuana even. I wonder why the monumental effect, for such a mundane choice? Some fucking charity they are eh?

Actually it doesnt even say he was caught smoking it, he was arrested for possession.

A vet with combat experience and who lost two legs is probably going to need that pot just to be able to sleep at night.

I have had some roommates who were combat veterans. Its not fun to be awoken from a sound sleep by someone screaming and having nightmares down the hall.

They're allowed to do it, but come on, the dude lost two legs. If they can find some guy who lost his legs and didn't get caught for marijuana possession, then I hope they give it to him, but, Christ, it's weed. A guy who's lost half his body should be kinda given a free ride on some things, y'know?

He should have been smart about it and should just have become one of those stereotypical alcoholic veterans. It's legal to be one and not nearly as destructive.

That sounds very draconian. I suppose who they give houses to is up the the charity, but revoking the offer over that small a charge seems way over the top. Poor guy.
