Ah, yes, this is true. I would attribute this to the fact that Christianity and Islam are remarkably "giving" in terms of the afterlife, and Christianity in particular is a pretty relaxed religion. I think somehow the idea that there is one God that will make everything better is more soothing than ancestor worship or animism.
