Christmas season itself is a lot of fun, I just include the entire months of November and December as the holiday seasons. I love Christmas music, and the Christmas flavored latte's at Starbucks, and everything red and green in general.

Indeed i think Christmas is getting sooner every year, The advertising/music e.t.c shouldent start till the beginning of December. Alough i dont enjoy it as much as i did when i was younger, I remember when i wasent allowed downstairs till 6:00 exactly. Ahhhhh the old days.

I guess they want to advertise early so that they can beat other super markets and stores to it. Almost gaining a sprint start ahead of the competition. But they will try to outdo each other and it will get earlier and earlier.

The blatant and vulgar marketing of Christmas has ruined it for me. Sure Xmas is fun and special but the rampant over commercialization of it ruined ot for me.

Plus they dont show the claymation Xmas stories anymore like Rudolph, The Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the snowman, etc.

I hate it, it is a testament to the commercialisation of the holiday. I mean, it's hardly November! What people often forget is that Christmas is a Christian festival. Christians and non-Christians like me should respect that.

As far as I'm concerned, Christmas doesnt exist until after my birthday each year (November 25th).

However, working, as I do, in a shop, I'm exposed to Christmas from August onwards (the stuff the public dont see straight away), and by the time its Christmas Day, I've grown to hate the bloody thing.

Only new movies work for them now, you have to OWN (once more dealing with money) the old movies most of the time, in order to watch them. P.S. Love your avatar Anlushac.

The same goes for my sister. Her birthday is the 7th of December and she is completly absorbed by the holiday.

Well I haven't seen many christmass advertisments around yet. The Sinterklaas (Sint Nicolaas aka Saint Nicolaas / Santaclaus) are popping up though. It's the Dutch Santa which we celebrate on December 5th. After that christmass comes. Shops are already selling Sinterklaas and Christmass items though or preparing for it.

I myself don't really care about either holiday. It's the same as any other for me and I don't see the need to buy eachother presents on those specific days. Ofcourse the family feeling and getting together is a positive thing of these days and I really enjoy that. It doens't have to be Sinterklaas or Christmass for that for me though.

And yes, Santa is inspired from the Dutch Sinterklaas (during the mass immigrations to the new land they moved the holiday of this old man to christmass and made him fat etc. :p ).
