early humans who could not everything that was happening around them attributed them to a superior power who was controlling all of the world . thus relegion was born out of ignorance do you think the concept of relegion has outlived its usefulness , has it become a huge burden stopping mankind to progress? most of the wars, holocausts and pogoroms that happend during the course of history and are still happening can be attributed to relegion. what is your opinion?

Religion chains people's minds by telling them what to believe; from this blind belief people are too easily deceived. To remove that well of evil would be a marvellous triumph.

And what would that lead to? No morals, to put it simply. STDs would be EVERYWHERE. Because of gay marriage and gay adoption, children would grow up in unstable homes. They'd be confused. Suicide rates would go up, crime rates would go up...the world would be...a mess. Think.

And for the last time! The holocaust WAS NOT the jew's fault!

DarthSporkyAnd what would that lead to? No morals, to put it simply.[/quote] Religion(s) has led to a lot of things morally doubtful (unless hanging some black people to a tree is morally good)

:Puzzled: Are you serious? Give some links to prove what you're saying (or keep your homophobia for an other thread...)

if following relegion were to ensure good morals why would there be so many crimes in this world when 95% of the populace follows some relegion or the other?

DarthSporkyAnd what would that lead to? No morals, to put it simply.

The day man first sat down and judged with a book was the day he lost the fitness to judge at all.

All it means is I make my own moral compass and rely on that to bring me to port. Rather than steering someone else’s course. When you steer someone else’s course without your own compass, one you know is true and sure, (the compass); you don’t really know where you're going. You can’t find yourself. If someone moved you to hatred and anger it would be so easy not even to notice. Put aside your religion and commandments, if but for a week. Forge your own compass. I’m not saying don’t believe what you want to believe, but judge with, you. Judge with your heart. Your compassion, and mercy. Not with ancient writings and a wisdom recycled so many times over as to have lost all meaning. Then look at where you are, find your position with that compass, and let that bring you home.

Even a god has no right to dictate the morals of the smallest being; for in the end only you will be responsible for them.
