Well I just got this R.S homework, and it's to write an essay on the said subject. And I was in need of some arguements for each point of view. So I thought I'd ask what you think :)
My opinion is that we are, in fact, real and that there is a chance we may not exist except as a thought. Although, I think that this is a concept that should not be explored, as would we really want to know? I mean, if you found out that your whole life was a computer game for some alien creature, would you not just go insane?
Btw, by: "I just got" I mean a week ago, and it's for tomorow..
If we can ask the quesiton do we exist doesn't that clue us into the fact that if we are here to ask then we have to exist ? 0_o We ARE self aware and capable of expiriencing emotion and reacting to circumstances.. How is it possible that we do not exist? Pinch your self :P

If I found out my life was a comuter game I would save the game throw myself infront of a train and load the game again.
Define exist. I'm real enough for me, anyway.
Nothing is real, Everything is

we are just a dream and god is just a dreamer. When he wakes up existance and i will cease to exist:help:
It is an interesting question, but it begs to ask, why does it matter?
I am sure we exist, but there can be a possibility that there is something going on we cannot even comprehend, like in a HP Lovecraft novel.
Well, if you were a Christian (which I am), you could write that she is gonna burn for what she thought up and how God will save us all, that's what I'd do, OR if I was feeling lazy I'd simply write: Thinking deep hurts.
I know that I exist, but that is all that I know.
Are the rest of you real, or are you just my imagination? The people I see hear and touch? Maybe its all one long dream.
I choose to believe that everything is real, and that does me just fine.
Mmh... Do we exist? Yes, we do. Why? Because we choose to exist. It may sound stupid, and I am stupid, but I think it' s a choice we make to belive in our neighbours, in our city, in our friends, in trees et c. and isn' t making a choice like that a proof that we do in fact exist? But let' s just say the we don' t exist for a second, that everything that surrounds us is our imagination; why would there be something bad like wars, death, crimes or Michael Jackson? Why would we want to create something bad? Plus we would know everything before it happens since we are the one creating the events and this makes no sense, so yes, we do exist.
We exist because the state we are in defines existence. So what if we were characters in an alien computer game? Then that would be existence just the same. What we are, no matter what that may be, is existence.
