This might have been brought up before do you believe in Evolution,in any form?

Personally i believe (in a nut shell) god created the big bang and then let the universe sort itself out,had a hand in creation at certain points, let nature carry most things out by itself and guided and continues to guide his creation

i believe in evolution. and believe that people who still believe in creationsim have a mental problem. its like saying the world is square and that everything revolves around earth.

Well, there's already a Religion Thread that this could fit in, but I found the following article interesting: http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/pope-huddles-with-religious-thinkers-on/20060830083809990030?ncid=NWS00010000000001

It describes the Vatican's position on evolution. It's nice that they finally picked up on the fact that we're not all Mel Gibson.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I believe. God started the universe, then let life take its own course, evolving and everything. I'm not all that sure that he "guided" the evolution, but I think he started it all. I don't think you can really reject evolution, it's obvious that it exists.

articles.news.aol.comCatholic teaching accepts evolution as a scientific theory and does not read the Biblical story of creation literally. But it disagrees with what it calls "evolutionism," the view that the story of life has no role for God as its prime author.

Doesn’t look like an acceptance of it hombre, looks more like a motion designed to enhance their public image on the subject, while leaving all deity doctrines intact. Good to see nevertheless. As for evolutionism, I agree wholeheartedly.

SedistixAs for evolutionism, I agree wholeheartedly.

Evolutionism, or philosophical materialism (or naturalism) is not the same as Darwinian evolution. Darwin's evolutionary theories aren't necessarily opposed to theism, or deism. Evolutionism states that everything in the universe exists only be chance, and that nothing came about because of any sort of premeditation. Now, I'm assuming you believe the same, I just wanted to point out that what you linked to - about evolutionary theory - isn't exactly evolutionism. As for evolution - I believe in God, and spirituality. However, I am inclined towards evolution as well. So, I believe in evolution, but not in evolutionism. I've read some decent critiques of the biological aspects of it, including Darwin on Trial, and Darwin Retired, but it seems to me the fundamentals of evolutionary theory are sound and make plenty of sense.

I dont really believe in evolution but I dont really care. I know there is a God that created the universe and that's all I need to know, weather he used a big bang or not.
