I try to be open minded when debating and having discussions, but sadly most of my discussions with my peers end when the other person starts insulting me, my opinion, and everyone who agrees with me in a loud voice. Oh well. I wont be a freshman forever.

Fire LegionSo are you open minded? Really?

Not really. I sort of stay with the way I was brought up. Some people like my daddy call me mule headed and stubborn when it comes to some things. I sometimes speak my mind and that gets me in trouble. I'm just a wierd girl.

Actually I can be quite stubborn in doing things, I have certain routines I won't step down from easily. One silly example is wanting to finish a page in a book when I have to go away (so I don't have to restart halfway the page), finish reading a post/thread when being called downstairs and that sort of thing. But when it comes to my view on the world and other people I'm pretty openminded. :clueless:

I think I'm very open minded. However, I hear all the time that I'm very narrow-minded. I don't understand what they're talking about:)

I can be stubborn at the momment but usually I come around.

As far as being openminded...

No. My mind is normally closed but not locked.

I don't care for people's stray thoughts roaming unchecked through my desciion making processes so I keep them segegated.

I have a closed door policy so as to keep out popularity. reason, logic and tact open the door readily.

I'll listen to what other people say and I can understand where they're comming from a lot of the time, but if they want me to agree with them over something I've thought up they'll have to convince me they're right.

most of the time im open minded but if im in a debate or something i wont back down ill only back down when they show some evidence for the arguement but normally im not bothered if other peoples ideas contradict my own its a personal opinion most of the time.

I consider myself very open minded, I've been complimented for it as well by others. As sai dI dont like to lose arguments, but alot of times I accept the fact that I had my information wrong, and didnt know what was going on.

Fire Legion I have a friend at school, who refuses to accept anything else to what he already believes in, which is that all religion is wrong and that the Bible is 'crap'. And he's very loud about it too. He argues with another friend, who is a hyper-devout catholic,. They can never agree, grow or develop without learning from other ways of life

personally i don't think that being openminded has anything to do with your example ... being openminded towards religion, when it looks like every year a religion-driven war could break out is somewhat hard, wouldn't you agree ... i consider myself from time to time openminded aswell, although i cannot resist in arguing myself to death with religious people ...

I'd have to agree proportionaly witht he above. I'm not sure whose being hard headed from the example given.

Closed mined: I think means an inability to accept an obvious truth. Like Gravity...a round Earth, something easily defined.

Religion and science aren't as easiily defined as we'd like to belive.
