Most of us on this forum agree that cannabis should be legalized if that happens all the hippys would probally want acid and mushrooms DMT ect. to be legal too. Now this is more of a grey area becuase these drugs can be somewhat dangerous. But then again there is a legal psycedelic drug called salvia so if thats legal why shouldnt acid and shrooms be legalized. On this subject I say yes and no. Yes becuase why arrest a hippy for doing somthing he or she enjoys on the other hand what if soemone decides to get in a car while tripping out on lsd lets say. and yes we all know that drunk driving is extermly dangerous but driving on lsd is like sober driving comparing to driving drunk there for if these drugs are legal there should be strict rules and regulations to make sure everyone is safe and can enjoy the wonders of pyscedlics. :deal:

BTW cannabis is a mild pyscedlic but most regular users like myself wont get to that state of mind.

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that all drugs should be legal in the privacy of your own home. In public places, however, they should be banned, as they can cause disruptive and possibly dangerous behavior. If you wanna fuck yourself up, go right ahead, but keep it to yourself. And really, I wouldn't say that driving while on LSD is any better than driving drunk.

Also, salvia isn't legal everywhere, if I remember correctly. According to Wikipedia:

Although salvia is not regulated under the Controlled Substances Act, some American states, including Alabama, Delaware, Louisiana, Missouri, Ohio and others, have passed their own laws.

Less then mild, if there is a word.

Hippies, original hippies are in their 60's if not older now, but you shouldn't throw Weed into the same class as the rest, thats just feeding the fire of "it's a gate way drug"

With that said, I'm not apposed to any non-hard drug but hard ones such as cocaine, heroin, meth, pills, GHB etc. that actually have a major impact to the users health and state of mind let alone the addiction factor.

Demitri please proofread your posts! You can write them high, but atleast wait till you are sober before you post!

Anyways, I think all drugs should be legal. The laws should be changed so that if someone commits any kind of assault or crime related to their impaired judgement carries a SERIOUS punishment. My $1.25.

All drugs should be legal. What to do to your body is not a call the state should be making. You know what the biggest drop in addiction rates as a result of legislation was? When they said you had to label the contents of things. The changes to the law since then have tended to be extremely harmful.

Its illegal to drive drunk, whu would it be OK to drive high?

If your impared you are impared. Do that shit at home where you are most likely no to injure yourself or others.

I am OK with pot, not so sure on other stuff. Never heard of a guy smoking a bong of weed performing self mutilations or jumping off buildings.

DUI with cannibis is safer than DUI with alcohol. That is not to say that DUI with cannibis is safe, the incidence of accidents on the road is still higher than if one was driving completely sober.

All drugs should be legal. What to do to your body is not a call the state should be making.

It depends, really. I agree with this. However, it is a problem when said druggies rock up to a government funded ED to get treatment for injuries or illness sustained doing their drug of choice.

Out of curiosity, do they do this for tobacco? Because I don't think they do it here in New Zealand. But then, I've never bought a pack of cigarettes in my life. And does it help?

I agree with Nem, all drugs should be legalized. If people want to destroy themselves with harmful chemicals let them. The only condition I'd like to see would be taxation on drugs that is proportional to the damage caused by addicted people to society. Also, crimes while under the influence of drugs should be punished very, very harshly.

The benefit I see in this is mostly the destruction of all the organized crime that grew around the drug trade. Rather than to have lots of innocents involved in this drug war and lots of resources wasted in attempts to control drugs I'd accept that people ruin their own lives if they so choose and possibly become a burden on society.

Even if you didn't tax the stuff, it'd be much cheaper to treat the occasional person who goes off the deep end than to police the drug trade with its associated damages.
