The EU is supporting enough poor countries and dealing with enough corruption and hypocrisy as it is, the last thing it needs is more of both.

Absolutley not, we have enough with corruption and crime as it is, in Europe, just like Mr Matt wrote.

The EU was designed with 5 (i think) member states.

Having 9 in the EU was pushing its viability. 20-odd is just silly. They need to completely rethink the whole shebang.

He, well how were the United States designed? As long as they aren't adding members every year, it should work out well. Thanks to the EU, Portugal and Greece aren't second world countries anymore. Just slowly add 'em and it'll go fine.

KarstHe, well how were the United States designed?.

The US has a single common language - English.

Whilst English is also apparently the official language of the EU (it used to be french), not everyone speaks it by a long shot. Also, trying to implement EU is a nightmare due to all the different customs and traditions present within each of the member states. America didnt have that problem, because it had practically no history.

I see your point, but i still support expansion of the EU. Of course it's something else....methods were different 250 years ago....

I think the EU should listen to the saying "less is more" ;)

I'm gonna push my Americanism to the limit here.

No. The EU is a cool club as it is. The addition of Romania and Bulgaria means the addition of losers. Then the EU and US won't hang out and go on panty raids in the middle east any more, and that would suck.

Actually, I think EU was perfect up to the last expansion, when they let Poland and those other East European countries in. They shouldn't of been granted membership.
