DCLXVIBah, I can't stand teen pregnancy. There were a lot of pregnant girls when I was in high school. I always wanted to punch them in the stomach for being so stupid.
Well, that would technically be assault and could result in the death of the unborn baby (which you would be persecuted for).
Another thing that always annoys me is teen marriages. Why in the hell are all these 18- and 19-year-olds wanting to tie themselves down by getting married? Not to mention the inevitable divorce, alimony, child support payments, and who knows what else. It seems like a lot of these people also talk about their fiance constantly, as if anyone besides them gives a shit. Man that pisses me off.

I frankly do not know what the cause of this is. Perhaps it is society's influence and the pressures put on young girls by the media. I did know several girls in my high school who became pregnant at some point before graduation.

Alright people, this is final. Please keep this thread on-topic, cease the talk of avatars and what not, or this thread is locked.

We are discussing relevant issues to life. Please keep it that way.

Lust I know of a lot of girls (including myself) who have wanted their first time to be with someone they didn't really know... just because if they did it with someone they really cared about it would have been quite embarassing having them see you in pain and agony while you're trying to please us! And then seeing them at school and having to talk to them would have just been UBER embarassing.

Sorry to get off-topic for a minute (EDIT: especially now that I see what was posted while I was in the process of writing this post..hehe. Ooops), but I just had to comment on this, because I *hate* that myth with a passion. It doesn't hurt for but a second. And for most girls, the pain is incredibly minimal. I was scared out of my MIND to have sex for the first time, because I thought it would be horribly painful. Not so. Just a little, then it was fine. It's the same for most girls...but somehow these horror stories get spread and girls end up terrified of sex. That doesn't need to be the case. And I'm sorry, but if someone will be embarrassed by seeing someone around school after sleeping with them, they aren't emotionally ready for sex. As far as the girl goes...I know it's hard to not be affected by the choices she's made, but remember that you're no longer together anymore, so her choices really don't affect you. Whether or not it's the truth, still sounds like you're better off.

Good point though Candice, though I think if you are honest this 'myth' is perhaps being perpetuated by certain people with a certain agenda - or more to the point this is one of the myths not being eagerly-debunked by the 'establishment' (?) You with me?

nameChangedYou sure? How is it funny to you :uhm: I mean I would have expected indifference or dislike but not amusement. ;)

I think it's because of your custom user title, "She's so pretty, oh so pretteh!"

Anyways, Candice, I used to hear all the time about how painful it was, but after talking to a few girls about it they said it didn't hurt at all, and if it did - only for a moment (just like you said!). I USED to be afraid of having sex, but not anymore.

I think the actual affair of having to 'perform' still terrifies alot of ppl with or without the potential for pain; which is why alcohol is added to mix so often. I would admit that on occasion it can feel like a chase in a cartoon - you know when the character being chased realises that he had nothing to fear from the one chasing & the roles reverse? As a man you are essentially considered the to be the active pursuer but there comes a moment when you know that what follows is a given, & then it can feel like the situation is 'chasing' you... ...the pressure can increase rather than wane. I didn't put that across formidably but see what ppl make of it - if anything.

Sex is so empy as an activity really. Far more crucial is to have those you admire admire you back. That is key to feeling you have place & worth in the world. The feeling that you can attract good people to you & control the bad ones. Said way more than I was going to.
