I think it could eventually happen. The Euro is one of the strongest currencies in the world, OPEC has already considered replacing the U.S. Dollar with the Euro as it's currency of choice.

I think if any currency will become the official global currency over the next 100 years, the Euro has the best chance.

I voted yes, and it seemed like a cool idea, but not realistic.

I like my ol' Greenback!!! :stallard:

Actually, it's not impossible. If Europe, after thousands of years of rioting, religious wars, state-to-state wars etc. can get together, and launch a single currency for their whole continent, then it is possible for that to be done on a world scale.

yeah but economically they were almost equal , but when you compare them with some asian countries the gap is huge. they will be bankrupt overnight

its economics that dictates same currency not politics

Nobody with so much as a scrap of knowledge of how the global economy works can possibly say that a global currency would work. Not now, and not for a thousand years. It has nothing to do with whether all the countries are buddies or not. It has to do with whether any country's economy would actually survive such a currency. Well done, in trying to make your holidays easier, you totally obliterated the global economy. Congratulations on your new yurt, by the way.

it isn't almost impossible (if not impossible) but it would be nice! It is likly however to see all westerncountries to have a single currency (we will have electronic money only by then): there are (economical) differences but these can be solved just as the differrences that there where/are between euopean countries.

Go to a poorer EU country and listen to the moaning, see if you think the economical differences have been solved yet then.
